Trapper is about 55 gangly, unweildy lbs.... but shouldn't be really quite that many!
But he has a short, curly tail, which is definitely NOT a trait for the English pointers as they were bred to have that long straight tail a hunter could see. Previous owners (real rescuers) thought he had more of a hound type mix in him. Some people say dalmation (but some people just think any dog with spots is dalmation....).
And actually, I do think maybe I see a difference in your guy's facial shape. Just a bit. But they do look very similar.
Either way, you have a great looking dog Yeah, think we're sticking with Baxter, tho he doesn't speak Spanish...
Beagle or fox terrier is another idea (that either or both are mixed with).
Couldn't be happier with him so far; he's definitely been a great addition.
