                            Second, if there is any one thing that prevents a pleasant welcome for new folks, it appears to be posting links to your own blog or pimping a site. This will incite the locals and they will set upon you with verbal pitchforks of scorn and derision.

                              A couple more tips for newcomers.

                              -Don't post links to any articles or blogs from any website. The people here don't like reading other people's opinions.
                              -Don't post more than 5 posts a day. They don't like when new forumites post too much.
                              -Just agree with everything the regulars say. They don't like when you disagree with them and they just don't like reading other people's opinions.
