Sorry I think you were shafted when you were turned away, gski.
Be aware, though, that they will charge you on game days if you don't show recent activity on their player's card (or if you don't even have a player's card).
I've been closely following the Lions since 2003, when Charles 'blew erryday' Rogers got drafted.
My experience as a Lions fan started when I signed up for football my junior year in high school. I got onto the varsity squad and played on the same team as former Lion Drew Stanton. I was mostly a baseball and hockey fan growing up, but it wasn't until I started playing football that I started to love the sport (and love/hate the Lions).
I've been through all the ups and downs (mostly downs) since 2003, but I don't think I could ever root for another team because I've lived in Detroit and its surrounding suburbs my entire life.
I'm excited for this season though because we haven't had as much talent on paper across the board in a long time. I think our weaknesses are the LB corps, the secondary, and the offensive line. Also, all the receivers on the roster not named Calvin Johnson need to step it up this year. There will be some growing pains, but hey, at least it'll be fun to watch.
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”
I have a red handicap sign so I am able to park in handicap spaces until january 2014,I know there is a lot by the stadium but $40.00 is alot to pay for parking, as thinking of going to nemo's to eat and ride their shuttle. I tried to park at the casino ramp at a game with my son 2 years ago and they wouldn't let me because he was a minor. I also have 2 Lions stickers on my car and a Lions license plate, so I am covered as mentally handicapped!!
Good choice.
You will save both on parking and you won't be as hungry during the game so you might be able to forgo the $4.00 hot dogs. Can't help you with the $7.50 beers.
Just make sure you arrive at Nemos early, there is usually a rush around 11:30.
Last time I went there before a game, I arrived about 10:30 and had lots of choices for tables. But, that was before they allowed alcohol to be served before 12.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.
Called the casino parking garage yesterday,no parking if you have a minor in the car.How would you stay at the hotel if you brought your family? drop them off outside while you park? Anyways probably just pay the $40.00 and park by ford field in the handicap lot
Well, the technicality here is by State Law, (and I believe it is the same in Nevada) minors are not allowed on the gambling floor.
I am guessing that since entrance from the garage to the casino would require walking across the gambling floor to get outside at street level, they do not want to take the chance of a minor entering the building from the garage.

Not really sure what you're trying to say there, Mark. You can park there and take the elevator to the ground level and exit the building completely, all without stepping anywhere near the casino. If you DO wish to go to the casino, you take the elevator to that level and walk half a mile inside the building, then pass a security check, and THEN you're "in" the casino. So why one would be turned away from the parking deck just because a minor is in tow does not make sense to me.
