Damn! I thought this was at least a 4. I was pleasantly surprised with it. Great story, cast and shot perfectly.

      • We went a saw Rock of Ages last week. What a complete shit sandwich that was. It's only the second movie I've ever walked out on.

It ranks up there with Rollerball as worst movie ever IMO. at least Rollerball had Rebecca Romain naked while RoA brought nothing to the table. Tom Cruise mailed it in. I generally love Russell Brands characters but he and Alec Baldwin couldn't save this steaming pile.

          • Finally saw Hunger Games and thought it was pretty damn good although I wish they'd just leave it one and done then make another.

Caught up on some older flicks like "Drive".. What a slow steaming pile of shit that movie was. I loved how it was shot but man was it slow. Pass

hopefully seeing it tomorrow, getting really good ratings from the best judge of rating movies [ame="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345836/"]The Dark Knight Rises (2012) - IMDb@@AMEPARAM@@http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTk4ODQzNDY3Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODA0NTM4Nw@@._ V1._SX94_SY140_.jpg@@AMEPARAM@@BMTk4ODQzNDY3Ml5BMl 5BanBnXkFtZTcwODA0NTM4Nw@@@@AMEPARAM@@SX94@@AMEPAR AM@@SY140[/ame]

newspaper critics are being extremely picky because Christopher Nolan directed it, because of the director, it has to be the best movie ever made or they dislike it.

                • <3 If you haven't seen "The Dark Knight Rises", don't watch this video, cuz I have a feeling it was shown as a trailer during the movie, and it will give you chills ! Nolan = the best, and combine him with Zack Snyder, this movie will be REALLY GOOD !

                  • Rented Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon from Netflix - surprisingly good, especially if you've ever been in the Armed Forces. Really moves you. I'd give it 4 out of 5.

There have been rumors regarding Henry Cavill playing Superman for years. My first exposure to him was in The Count of Monte Cristo which I enjoyed. Then in Tristan & Isolde when he was a little older and of course The Tudors. I like the attempt at gritty realism they may be going for over all the "knight in shining armor" attempts from the past films.

There were actually parts of Superman Returns I enjoyed. The plane/ballpark scene was good. The tossing the planet into space thing was....tolerable, but the falling to Earth thing wasn't bad. I also kind of enjoyed his awkwardness around Lois' new boyfriend in the plane.

Oh and the recreation of Marlon Brando was nostalgic.

There were actually one or even maybe two scenes with Kevin Spacey I liked, but other than that pretty much everything else sucked.

                            • I've seen Dark Knight twice. It was awesome the first go and even better the second time around.

Instead of nonstop action and what not, there was several scenes with just flat out great acting.

                              Wonderful movie.

Still he has to be all around the best director out there. Sure their are better art directors, or better action directors, better intrigue directors, better sci-fi directors. But his ability to combine more auteur moments and feelings into more blockbuster setting is amazing. When you really think about he is probably the next Spielberg. A director that can scale up and down the grandeur of his movies by what he is trying to accomplish. And he is able to do it without generating the feel that he "sold out" when doing larger scale work.

As for this specific piece of work. Spectacular and great. Can't pick it of TDK, but Rises is easily better then Begins and fitting end to a trilogy of tortured billionaire that decided to dress up as a bat.
