I recently saw Star Trek and thought it was very good. I never really watched the original series but I was a fan of the films and The Next Generation series. I loved that they addressed the Kobyashi Maru scenario.
A surprosingly funny movie was Role Models with Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott.
I thought it was going to be another progressively less funny Judd Apatow movie, with a cliche'd sassy foul mouthed black kid to get cheap laughs. It was all that but had actual clever subtle writing.
Wow, what a horrendous film Transformers 2 is. I'd read the reviews, but even that didn't prepare me for how dreadful it was. I kept fast forwarding through painfully awful portions of it hoping it would get at least a little bit better and then I just nodded off somewhere near the end. Don't think I'll bother going back and finishing it.

Role Models was pretty good. Rudd is a pretty darn good actor that sneaks up on you. He was great in I Love You Man which was hilarious.
F#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.
I didn't think Transformers was that bad. It wasn't anywhere near the first but any movie that has Foxx bent over a bike in daisy dukes is thumbs up for this guy.

Yeah, I just watched it last weekend and thought it was bad. Just special effects and a lame story and acting.
"And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."
The 2nd one was wildly worse than the the st one. Think of the lame story and make it about 100 times lamer and more confusing and then throw in a bunch of really poorly thought out comedy bits/characters and lots more (and more and more) SFX and the typical Michael Bay directing style. Just a disaster
As jaadam noted, Megan Fox in short-shorts and running in slow motion were the only enjoyable things in this film.

when I first read this I thought you were talking about Jamie Foxx, I swear to God. I had to go back and read your post a 2nd time before I realized who you were talking about. :-) Sometimes my brain farts are very entertaining!
I agree 100% about Paul Rudd - he's been a bit under the radar for a long time, but I have liked him in everything he's done.

I watched 2012 last night. It wasn't bad. There's only so much you can do with that type of genre. I'm a Cusack fan and he played the role well. The girl that played his daughter in the movie was adorable and stole just about every scene she was in.

So Lifetime had a Jennifer Aniston movie marathon yesterday. It was perfect background noise while continuing to unpack. Her movies are enjoyable for the most part, though. And I saw a couple I had never heard of ("Derailed" and "Management"). Derailed was surprising.
Saw derailed and it really threw me for a loop when things started coming together, but Management was just odd, didnt really like it at all. It seems that Aniston plays the same part over and over. The bored, dull lady that is looking for something exciting to happen in her life.
