I watched Oppenheimer today. Honestly Nolan is a genius but 3 hours is far too long to be in a theater. I couldn’t wait for it to be over.F#*K OHIO!!!

Watched High Plains Drifter last night. Damn that is a good movie. I hadn't seen it in years.
There are many fan theories about who The Stranger was. Some say he was a ghost, the devil, the marshall himself, or the marshall's brother coming back for revenge.
Eastwood said in an interview, that it was originally written that he was the brother of the marshall that was killed, but he changed it to make it more ambiguous.
I think The Stranger was the ghost of the murdered marshall, but the other theories certainly hold some credence.
If you haven't seen it, give it a watch. If you have seen it, it is worth a rewatch.
Let me know who y'all think he was.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Took my kids to see the Azkaban potter movie back in the day. Youngest son Scotty had to sleep with the light on that night. ….. those dementor things freaked him out. They were bloody scary right enough."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

Definitely matters if you are “into” what you are going to read.
Wasn’t into anything at all fantasy, like Potter or LOTR etc etc but went to cinema and watched with my kids anyway. Was a difficult sit.
But i thought, maybe i should make more of an effort. So in 2003 ish decided to start the first book, Philosophers Stone.
Got to maybe the 3rd chapter….. thought, WTF is this shit…… and stopped.
Its obviously not shit; she’s a feckin billionaire….. but if you’re into it, it’ll be an easy read.
The wife read the last part in 2 days. Book is thicker than the feckin bible."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

The key to those books is Rowling took a genre (fantasy) and combined it into a coming of age story and made it accessible so casuals wanted to read it. It might not have lured in Marko, but it lured in a lot of people like Marko who wouldn't generally read the fantasy genre.
I think the movies successfully edit the books, by the end of the series the books suffered from bloat. Maybe they got so big there was nobody there with the heft to edit her.
