    • More horror movie reviews:
      • Moloch, B+. Has my ideal horror movie structure including a nice mystery with a payoff. 2nd act and a really lackluster love story drags it down from an A.
      • The Innocents, C. The child actors do a great job. Solid visual story telling and unique shot choices. But it feels like a 45 minute story dragged out to 2 hours.
      • Wish Upon, C+. Really tame teen horror flick. Good production values. Story is completely derivative, and the protagonist is a horrible, horrible person. Ending saves it.
      • Caveat, D. All atmosphere, no logic.
      • Piranha, B. Its a terrible movie but full of that shlocky 80s movie charm.
      • The Mist. A. Nearly perfect. Can't believe it took me this long to watch it.

BTW, I rewatched "Tumbad" and "Censor" and they both are still great even on multiple viewings.

Sneaky good horror movie by Frank Darabont.

Same. I feel very fatigued when it comes to having interest in watching modern day blockbusters. MCU movies make up a notable chunk of it in recent years. The issue is they mostly have the same narrative beats. Way too much overexposure to the same type of story telling. I simply don’t have the same desire to watch these movies as I once did… Call it superhero fatigue.

The new Spider-Man movies are the only MCU movies I’ve watched since the Thanos arc ended. Crazy how fast I lost interest.

        • Considering the very spotty history of comic book movies, the whole MCU universe was an amazing trick, but that sort of storytelling seems to have a shelf life. When the story being told involves losing half the lives in the universe, the stakes for anything succeeding it is going to be small potatoes. You've seen it all.

          • The latest Thor movie was a bit disappointing but it was hard to top the third one.

I’m still curious to see where they go with this. Kang is supposed to be an interesting villain. So far I like what I see from Jonathan Majors in that role. If the movies are fun, I’ll keep watching.

The last Spider Man was done really well. The bad part about the last Thor was that Christian Bales role was so damned good. That guys acting is in a different world than the rest of Hollywood

Thor movies are like that. Very Flash Gordon like. Not my favorite at all.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

                        • Pheobe & Chandler both ruined Spiderman for me when they discussed the name "Spide-man" ...., pheobe thinking it was his surname...., Chandler explaining.

As a result, kept chuckling away to myself during the last "Spide-man" movie....., wife told me to STFU.

                          • The 2nd Black Panther movie comes out this week. I’m curious to see how they handle the death of Boseman. He was very likeable in the role and seemed like a good guy.
