    • Not yet. Kathryn Bigelow.... she has some good movies on her resume.

Just saw "Nocturnal Animals." Wow, really good. It's like a dark version of "Princess Bride" in how they narrative is set up. But damn, great acting too... Michael Shannon. Adams, Gyllenhaal. Even Aaron Taylor-Johnson, I didn't know that was him.
Deep movie, probably moves up into my top 5 of 2016.

          • I can't for the life of me understand why they thought this was a good idea. Normally in movies don't they have a pulley system to help pad the fall of jumps like that?

And I also for the life of me understand why they think another Mission Impossible movie is a good idea. That series has been stale for awhile for this movie goer.

We watched Nocturnal Animals last night. It was very different and we discussed the ending for quite a while. I love Amy Adams, but I didn't like Gyllenhaal in this role. I didn't feel vested in his quest for justice, he didn't seem sympathetic or genuine for most of the movie.

              • I watched it and liked it quite a bit.

Lets start with the beginning. The art show was....mmmmm.. different?

I found the movie was captivating and it pulled you in a lot of different directions. It wasnt the normal popcorn flick and it held my interest.

The ending being up to interpritation wasnt my favorite but i can see why they did it that way.

Now that Deb called out Gyllenhaal I have to agree his book self wasnt the best but I enjoyed the film

We saw it Monday night and really liked it. My only complaint is that sound track. Bloody intense and at times annoying.

                        • First reactions to "Blade Runner: 2049" are saying it's incredible.
In directors, I trust. After Denis Villeneuve directed "Arrival", "Sicario", "Prisoners", and "Enemy"... come on. Also, the combination of "Sci-Fi" and "Thriller" is the perfect film combo!
Fair to say that the IMAX has my $$$ next Thursday evening.

                              • Looking forward to Blade Runner for sure.

I just watched La La Land, and damn that was good. I figured there was probably an overreaction just because it was a musical when it was getting hyped up, but it deserved all the accolades it received.
