    • Saw Office Christmas Party. Jason Bateman is one of Hollywoods underrated actors and generally chooses fun movies.

This wasn't one of them. How do you F up a comedy with such an awesome cast? Terrible movie
      F#*K OHIO!!!

      • Saw Hacksaw Ridge today.

Meh.. It was okay but I was expecting a little more out of it considering the epic nature of the real life story. I watched the documentary before hand and the movie left out a lot of real life theatrical parts that could have tied things together. I thought the lead played the part well but the supporting cast (with the exception of Vince Vaughen) was very very piss poor. Couldn't really connect with any of them and they almost seemed hooky.

I rated it 7/10 on imdb but they missed by a mile imo

I finally got around to seeing it today. The wife had gotten me a gift card to our local Regal, so I figured seeing it as a freebie would soften the hit if it was a bad movie.

I thought it was ok. Just ok. I never got the feeling they were alone in space so much as in a newly-built Hyatt Regency. The effects were alright, and I liked the leads, but it just didn't resonate with me or do anything I hadn't seen before. It's worth waiting for it come on HBO or to stream.

          • Jaadam,

We saw Passengers and liked it. Wifey thought it was little slow, but the special effects, (for example, parts of the bartender scenes) were very good.

            • I went to see Assassins Creed. I wasn't really expecting much from a video game turned movie but it was ok. It had some cool concepts that worked.

              • I loved Assassin's Creed, but I also 100% every one of the games lol. I thought they stayed very true to the thematic feel of the games, without tying it to any specific game. They did well enough my wife enjoyed it and followed along fairly well even though she doesn't video game, at all.

                • That's pretty surprising. I didn't hold out much hope for them to make a decent movie from it. I played the first three or four of them, but I haven't gotten any of the newer ones.

Currently playing Dishonored 2 (sorry, I'll take it to the video game thread!).

                      • Oh man this is terrible. Saw the preview to the movie Lion which looks amazing but Nicole Kidman plays a tired looking mom. Man that's depressing that she's gotten this old. She was a stunner back in her day.

Felt kinda the same way about Winona Ryder in Stranger Things.

Been catching up on all of the "award movies" in 2016... I think my three favorite movies of 2016 are:
                              1. "Sing Street"
                              2. "La La Land"
                              3. "Arrival"

Can't believe my two favorite are music movies, but they are so f***ing amazing.
