I had to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that one was straight-to-video after going through the festival circuit...

Closer was okay, maybe worth a rental, although it takes a while to work up momentum and suffers from obviously-adapted-from-a-play-itis throughout. For those familiar with the play, the final outcome of Portman's character is changed (or perhaps more accurately, remains untold) but I think that actually works in the film's favor.
And I liked Ocean's Twelve better on a second viewing, in no small part because knowing the ending makes the lack of exposition a little more bearable (the feeling is not unlike seeing The Sixth Sense a second time, where you can actually appreciate the various "cheats"). It reminds me of how differently filmmakers and audiences see films, of first impressions versus weeks spent in the editing suite.

I really disliked The Sixth Sense precisely for the reasons you mention, LWC. I really hated it the first time I saw it, I felt the writing was contrived and dishonest. However, I did watch it again and hated it less on the second viewing.

Originally posted by Agileromster, I take it you haven't seen Rushmore. That's the Jason Schwartzman flick you need to see, although I enjoyed I Heart Huckabees, too. How good was Mark Wahlberg? He had me dying..."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Nuance does makes a difference in respect to translation. While the literal translation may be "I show" it does mean to accuse someone. You're "showing" the culprit or the crime. If you used an internet translator, they can be pretty dicey, Rom!

True enough. I knew Mr. West Coast was being funny so it probably meant something like I was accusing him or he was guilty. LOL.

Heh...
In one week I saw Sideways, National Treasure ($1 night), Million Dollar Baby and The Aviator. I think that's a record for me for going to the movie theater.

This week Ocean's 12 is at the discount theater so I'll probably hit it on $1 night."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."
