I think he's a great actor and like the stuff he's been in but he just plays things too tough. The Casino scenes fro Casino Royale were down right horrid.F#*K OHIO!!!

The casino game was indeed excruciating to sit through.
I've only done it once though.
I bought the 1st JB (Casino Royale) blu-ray solely for the opening sequence and a couple other cool scenes.19.1119, NO LONGER WAITING

Im always a few months late to the party b/c I order off PPV.
Seen Inglorious Basterds last night. A bit long (dialog was sometimes drawn out) and a warning - its a quite graphic violent movie - as to expect from Tarantino. If you want to see a funny 'dirty dozen' remake, I recommend it. It's not for everyone, it can be offense to some. This is not a historic movie and it does not pretend to be one.
I thought Brad Pitt was absolutely hilarious as Basterd leader Lt. Aldo Raine, nasty, impractical, bloodthirsty, stupid, the real standout though is Christoph Waltz as the vile Col. Landa. He's both hilariously funny, compellingly human, monstrously evil.

I saw Avatar in 2D the Saturday before the Oscars. I waited too long to catch it in 3D. It was awesome!
I wasn't too surprised The Hurt Locker won Best Picture over Avatar. While Avatar was a technical masterpiece, the story and the characters weren't exactly layered. But they were both excellent movies in their own ways.
At work Monday I talked to a guy who was dumbfounded over the The Hurt Locker win. He thought it was a terrible movie.
Amazing how two people can see one thing so differently."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Rom, did you see District 9? My Dad thought it was so bad that he called me just to tell me NOT to see it. I was surprised to see it mentioned a few times during the Oscars considering how terrible he found it. Seems like similar disparity as you found with The Hurt Locker.#birdsarentreal

You know, I haven't seen it and after reading your post I deleted it from my queue. I only added it because it was nominated for Best Picture. I thought surely with a Best Picture nod there must be something good about it. But I only know 2 people who've seen it including your Dad and neither liked it. The trailers don't grab me either.
Anyone here seen it?"And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Did a search and found this post from speedracer in another thread:
Just got back from seeing District 9. I thought it was a damn good movie (keep in mind i'm easy to please). Had a Cloverfield feel to it minus the shaky make you want to puke camera work. Not a lot of promotion behind it so you may or may not have seen a trailer for it. I vaguely had an idea of the plot, but liked the storyline very much and thought the acting was superb. All in all I would say well worth the money to go see it at the theater."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Netflix thinks I'll only give it 3 stars though the average of 550,592 ratings gives it 3.5 stars.
Edit: I've rated so many movies at Netflix, they pretty much have me pegged though they make the occasional gaffe."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."
