  • This is kind of an old movie (99' or something like that), but did any of you see Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? I watched it for the first time in a while the other day.

    Greatness.

Depp and even to more of an extent, Benicio Del Toro, were pretty amazing in the film.

    • Adding it to my queue.

How the heck are you, Nick?! Are you still in BFE Wyoming?

      • I saw Wanted and liked it. I've never been a big Angelina Jolie fan but she came off very appealing in this movie.

        • Hey ya Deborah!

I'm pretty good all things considered. Yep, I'm still in this desolate, godforsaken oil town -- counting down the days until I'm outta here ;)

20 months left give or take... UGH.

Anyways, how are you? Is the Ludington weather as amazing as I am guessing it to be at this time of year?

          • I saw an amazing 6 episode documentary series on DVD - Long Way Down. Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman ride motorcycles from the top of Scotland (John O'Groats) to Cape Town, South Africa - 15,000 miles in 85 days. The most interesting parts of the trip were through Africa. At the end, I felt like I got a great taste of that continent.

I have not seen their first series, Long Way Round, where they rode from Europe to NYC traveling east (20,000 miles).

                  • I saw a few flicks this weekend in Dubai. I generally hate seeing movies in Muslim Theaters because they tend to cut out scenes that typically are the best but whenever I get to any sort of civilization I go movie crazy.

Couples Retreat... Ahhhhhh.. it was ok

Whiteout. Not gonna win any awards but not a bad flick. It's more of a see it at home type of movie but my dear Kate was righteous. Man she looked awesome.

Perfect Getaway. It didnt even look good to me but my choices with english speaking plots are limited so I went anyway and I'm glad I did. It was actually good. Again it was more of a see at home flick but it really had some fresh things in it. I liked it.

                        • Watched Vicky Christina Barcelona. It wasn't unenjoyable, but I guess I expected a little more. The ending showed you everyone was back where they started and that kind of gave me a wasted time feeling.

I was stunned by how sexy Javier Bardem was in that movie. And he really looked a lot like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, with his unshaven look. Yum.

                          • The best movie I've seen in a long time is Star Trek. They did a great job with casting. The actor who played Bones was particularly spot on in capturing the original character.

                            • Yep, JJ Abrams strikes again. Agreed on the casting. I thought Chris Pine was right on with how a young, cocky Captain Kirk would have been.

                              And Zoe Saldana is fiiiiiine.
