  • What up peeps!!!

Dark Knight was awesome, Pitt and Clooney were great as always in Burn After Reading but I didnt like the film. Started watching Attonment the other night and fell asleep but from what I saw it was incredible. Very very appealing to the eyes with the contrast and bright colors in beautiful shots.
    F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

    • I thought the previews for Hancock were misleading. I was expecting a complete comedy but it got very serious. Overall I thought it was okay.

              • I love watching Will Smith and I enjoy Jason Bateman as well so that helped make it entertaining to me.

Edit: I thought the Jason Bateman interaction with Will Smith was funny and so were the prison scenes. The fight between Smith and Theron was over the top and dumb.

                • Hancock is another one of those "love it or hate it" movies. Most people I've talked to didn't like it...I loved it.

Latest movie we rented was Wanted. Awesome movie...a bit predictable, but still good nontheless. Stunts are very Matrix-like.

The earlier question about playing DVD on a Blu-Ray...yes you can...it actually upscales the DVD to near Blu-Ray quality.

                  • I watched 2 very good foreign films this week. The first one I just finished watching this morning is called Mongol. I'm sure some have heard of it or even seen it; it's up for an Oscar for best foreign language film. For those who don't now anything about it, it's the first part of a trilogy (which I hear they might not make the other 2) about the life of Genghis Khan. Without giving too much away about the movie it pretty much starts from when he was a boy and follows him from there. It was shot beautifully with some great locations and the acting we very well, the fight scenes were a big gruesome and bloody but that's right up my alley so it didn't bother me. I would recommend this movie to not only people who like wars movies but anyone who like a good story line as well.

The second one I saw was called Chi Bi or Red Cliff in English, this one is probably less known to most people. It's based on an ancient Chinese battle in the late stages of the Han dynasty about 200 A.D. It's an epic 2 part movie with the second part due to come out sometime this month. It was directed by John Woo, but don't let that fool you into thinking it is one of his typical Hollywood action films. It is far far from it, it's actually shoot in a beautiful manner and mush like Mongol shot in great locations, kind of on the gruesome side as well but not as much as Mongol. I for one have always for some reasons been very fascinated by ancient Chinese culture so this movie was fantastic too me, I wouldn't however say that you had to be interested in ancient Chinese history to enjoy the movie although it would help. Some video game nuts might know the story line of Dynasty Warriors or Romance of The Three Kingdoms as I do which makes following the storyline in the movie much easier, still I would recommend watching. Let it be known that it's not available for rent through netflix as of now, but I have seen it on Amazon and e bay I Downloaded mine off a website and watched it the quality wasn't that great but still watch able.

                    • I recently saw an off-beat quirky kind of movie that I thoroughly enjoyed called The Wackness. From Netflix:

In the midst of a midlife crisis, psychiatrist Dr. Squires (Ben Kingsley) forms a relationship with teenage drug dealer Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck), who trades his product for therapy sessions. Luke falls for the doctor's daughter, and the doctor falls for Luke's teen friend (Mary-Kate Olsen). Drugs, depression, relationships and New York City are the focus of this comedic film from sophomore director Jonathan Levine.

                      • My Dad visited yesterday and we watched a movie I had never heard of via On Demand called "Special." Michael Rapaport's performance is excellent!

                        From Netflix:

Enrolling in a drug study to spice up his humdrum life as a low-paid meter reader, Les Franken (Michael Rapaport) begins taking an experimental antidepressant, which proves to have a few unexpected side effects. Convinced that he's actually developing special powers that can be used to fight evil, Les decides to quit his day job and focus on being a superhero ? despite his doctor's professional opinion that his abilities are all in his mind.

Agree completely with your comments. I think they could have made a better movie without Theron's character/storyline.

He's a Disney Channel kid, he's been on a show called Drake and Josh that my kids watch. He's lost like a 100 pounds on like the last 5 years, he was always the fat funny kid but it looks like he taking the serious roles now which is good for him.

That's a before and after pic of him crazy.
