  • Saw Appaloosa recently, if you like Westerns, you'll love it. Viggo and Ed Harris are two of my favorite actors.

      • Sylar from Heroes is playing Spock in the new Star Trek?

I wonder how that will work out?

        • I think it will work out well. Though I stopped watching Heroes.

          • I can totally imagine him as Spock.

My Dad gave up on Heroes, too. But I think if he had seen last week's episode, he may not have.

            • The preview for the new Star Trek film looks pretty good. I find it a little weird that the new guy playing Kirk seems to look more like the original captain (I think his name was Pike) than Kirk.

Heroes is very close to losing me (lol, like it's a huge loss). The 1st season was awesome. The 2nd season stunk but I cut them some slack because of the writers' strike. The 3rd season seemed to start off well but it quickly seemed to fall apart like the 2nd season did. I hope they can right the ship.

              • I may have to watch last week's episode online cuz Deb has me intrigued. For me, it started to feel like a chore to watch it. It got too busy.

                • Last week's episode (not this week's) explained a lot, is all.

                  • Oh I see, we've moved the TV thread over here eh? Can't get rid of me that easily.

I'm enjoying Heroes so far this year. Now if we need something to bitch about, Lost is coming back in 2009.

By the way, the actor that plays Sylar would make a great Spock in appearance and it will be interesting to see how it works out.

                    • Watched the latest X-Files flick tonight. I was a fan of the show so I was looking forward to it. But WTF? As a stand alone movie it was okay, but it wasn't even the X-Files really. Mulder & Scully were there, but that's about it. Other than that it was just the Feds trying to solve a case. The cig smoking man wasn't even in it for fuck's sake.

                        • Heh. I have that movie at home now. I've heard a lot of bad so my expectations are low.

I broke down and watched the first Chronicles of Narnia movie. I generally don't like CG animals and didn't like the idea of a CG Aslan. The movie was pretty good though. Tilda Swinton was great as the White Witch.

                            • Yeah, I watched the first several years but lost interest toward the end. I did see and enjoy and pretty much was able to follow the first movie.

Saw it last night and did not like it. Bleh. Scully and Mulder as a couple didn't work for me and Scully was plain annoying, weighted down with seriousness. In the series her skepticism worked. I did like some of the gruesome aspects of the case and actually rewound a couple of scenes - like the one of the fall inside the building. And the one at the end when the <ahem> guy blinked. That was cool.
