I saw P.S. I Love You today. Definitely a chick flick. I was teary through most of it, but I'm a sap that way.
I am freaking in LOVE with Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Sigh.
I think I should have seen I Am Legend instead. Maybe tomorrow.#birdsarentreal

The first was fun. I imagine that the critics didn't like it, but my 10 year old did. I intend to take him to see this one, too.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Just watched both halves of Grindhouse. Planet Terror was cool, a campy zombie flick with a good cast in it. Definately a movie you can watch and not have to think about, just enjoy it. The Machete trailer at the beginning was the best though. If they made that into a feature length film, I'd definately go see it.
Death Proof was pretty badass too, a homage to the muscle cars and chase scenes of the early 70s. Quite a lot of good dialogue in it, which is what Tarantino is noted for. The movie also had some great music in it, which is another Tarantino specialty. Another movie that you can just watch and not put a lot of thought into it, but still a lot of fun watching.Lions free since 6/23/2020

Seeing Grindhouse on the bigscreen was awesome. It was a little long being in the theater but it was so worth it for something as cool. I enjoyed both as well.F#*K OHIO!!!

I liked the National Treasure quite a bit so I'm sure i'll like this one. It kind of reminds of an Indiana Jones type with the adventure and artifact seeking.
Speaking of which I hope the don't f up the new Jones.F#*K OHIO!!!

I went to see Alien vs. Predator Requiem last night and it was a pretty wild ride. I really liked it and I'd say it was arguably the darkest of the franchise (both Alien and Predator) for one particular reason.
*spoiler. Highlight to read*Usually kids are sacred to a certain degree. Very young children aren't killed by monsters, certainly not graphically. Despite the fact you could see what was coming in the trailer when the face hugger took out the 12 year old boy, it was still disturbing to see the entire evolution of that sub-plot. What was even more disturbing and darker was when the Predator/Alien hybrid hits the maternity ward at the hospital. Never mind the scene of a drooling predalien looking hungrily at crying babies in their bassinets in the nursery (and thank GOD they didn't show the logical conclusion of that scenario), but when you see it approach a full term pregnant woman in her bed and start feeding three alien embryos down her throat it was questionably intense. Of course, we did see the results later on, when the alien pupae would burst from the woman's stomachs after they had devoured her baby and of course there were at least three pregnant women in that ward. I suppose in respect to a plot device, they had to get around the Alien queen and have these things multiply... but still. I'm ambivalent about that whole concept.*spoiler finished*
The flick opens with a bang then drops dynamically and ramps up in deliberate increments. I thought it was done fluidly with thoughtful consideration for the viewer. For a short flick, there was at least as much character development as the other films in respect to the main characters. It's only the last 40 minutes or so where the action is *bang bang* and edge of your seat. There were no real surprises and I thought they gave away too much in the red trailer... but then, that's what got my ass in the seat. The predalien was a flaw and all too convenient a plot device and I felt it was over the top, but then, in respect to the original Alien none of the sequels have been true to the original concept. Sometimes less is more.
I'll definitely own this puppy when it comes out on DVD, despite my ambivalence and the intensity of the action. Check it out!
