WHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

    Comment

    • No, I’m still way behind on MCU and super hero movies/ series since 2019. Excluding The Boys and Spider-Man.

I will try to catch up at some point if my fatigue of the genre goes away … specifically giving James Gunn his due. Again, that new Guardians rollercoaster at Epcot was a fun experience!

        • Speaking of great movies. I rewatched Secret Life of Walter Mitty the other day. That’s one of my favorite feel good watches.

              • Couple quick thoughts on recent movies:

”Napoleon” - I was going to see the movie during this holiday break. However, I heard there’s a 4 hour director’s cut coming in the near future. Rare exception where longer is better… Ridley Scott’s director’s cut of “Kingdom of Heaven” is AMAZING. The theatrical cut mediocre and lacking. Maybe that’s the same case again for Napoleon. I might wait to see it.

“Good Burger 2” - It’s fine. If you grew up with enjoying the original, then watch this one time for a few laughs. Same narrative structure with new jokes. Nothing special. Definitely a downgrade. At least it didn’t piss me off like Zoolander 2.

“Meg 2: The Trench” - I realize this movie is campy and lacks all logic. There’s still a scene that is so dumb that it hurt my head. Jason Statham’s character is diving in water thousands of feet below the surface without a suit on. A random character says something like: “There’s a reason why fish can swim this deep in water and don’t wear suits.” Something like that. My gosh new blockbuster movies are written by 5 year olds.

“The Marvels” - Haven’t seen it like most of the new MCU movies and series. I did notice that it tanked at the box office. Super hero fatigue? People finally waking up to not settling for the same ole crap?!

                • While I think there could be some super hero fatigue, my guess is Captain Marvel is not as interesting as some of the other Super Heroes. Her first movie wasn’t that great either.

                  • I just saw The Marvels last night and I really enjoyed it. As far as 2023 superhero movies go I would put it above Blue Beetle and Ant-Man, and I’m probably more likely to re-watch it in the future than the last Guardians movie.

                        • I’m still in two minds about Napoleon.

                          1. I don’t think a 4 hour movie could capture the life of Napoleon. There’s just too much to cover in his life. This is why it’s so difficult to capture the lives of some of the greats

                          2. I don’t think the casting is right. Phoenix is a great actor but I don’t see him for this role. They should have went with someone… well you know.. French

Well the theatrical cut version of Napoleon is 2 hours and 38 minutes. No way they can cover enough material in that and maybe it’s why the movie has a modest reception. That’s why I want to wait for the 4 hour director’s cut version that will be released on Apple TV in the near future. Again, pointing to my argument that the director’s cut version of “Kingdom of Heaven” was far superior.

If HBO could do a TV series that goes over The French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, that would have been ideal. With the quality of “Rome” and early “Game of Thrones.” Dreaming…

Yeah, I want to see it. Looks like an old fashioned John Hughes’ 80s movie based on the trailer.
