"Arrival" was directed by the guy that directed "Sicario" and "Prisoners." No way it's not good.

If anyone has Netflix, you should check out "Sing Street" on Netflix. I might have said this before a couple months ago. One of my favorite movies of 2016. With all the busts this year... remakes and sequels... this movie is very refreshing.

Watched Sing Street today.

It was pretty good indeed. That's one of the few movies I've seen where it can be a good fun movie or one that's deep on a lot of issues. Great story and really well done with a fantastic cast

At least for the first half of 2016, "Sing Street" was one of my favorite movies along with "Captain America: Civil War" and "Deadpool."
Given there aren't that many good ones until recently.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is getting great reviews. Damn... need to see that and "Doctor Strange" + "Arrival" + "Hacksaw Ridge."
All the good movies are coming out in the Fall. "Rogue One" comes out next month too!

Where did you even hear about Sing Street? It's not something I ever would have watched but man was it good. Make sure you share other not so obvious titles as you find them. I watch a lot of movies and run out of material from time to time.

At my work, we are allowed to listen to music. Every now and then, I listen to podcasts on YouTube.
One of the podcasts I listen to is "Schmoes Know." They just talk about movies and random other stuff. There is also "Screen Junkies" and "Collider."
That's where I get all my movie knowledge haha.

Idk if I'd recommend the to anyone, it's just been a way to hear all the news/talk I'm interested in.

I'm back in South Africa where sometimes we get blockbusters earlier and sometimes later. With a slow week I had to lower my standards and watch Blood Father with Mel Gibson.

Wow it was friggin terrible. Has Mel fell that far as an actor to get a terrible movie like that? And how in the F does that movie get made? Paper thin story line. Just a shit show

Watched Batman vs. Superman as it came on HBO this week. What an awful movie. At first I was thinking, this isn't so bad, it started out alright and Affleck was pretty good. But it just fell apart quickly and turned into an awful, loud noisy mess. Too bad really, I liked all the main characters (well, not Jesse Eisenberg as LL). They really need to get these movies out of Zack Snyder's hands.

Watched the newest JK Rawlings movie Fantastic Creature or whatever it's called. The acting is was pretty good and the story was cool but there was just zero flow to it. There's supposed to be several more installments, hopefully they watch better

I want to go and see that. I wonder if it'll be too scary for Tyler at 6 years old, or if he'll just think everything is cool.

Tough call. There's a lot of cool stuff that he might like with the creatures and all but it's difficult to say it would be enough to keep him interested and the end might be a little scary

I'll have to think about it. I know he's probably going to want to go see Rogue One too, but I'm going to watch it first. I've heard rumors about crazy Darth Vader killing people scenes (hope they're true by the way).

He probably will be, but he's a big baby about some things. All I need to do is call him out on it and get his stubborn side to come out. ;)

The more I think about it I doubt your youngin would like that movie. There's a few things in it for the younger kids but not much at all. IMO its more geared to adults than kids and the end might be a little terrifying
