Over the years Mr. Doss had offers to turn his story into a movie, but in he didn't want the attention that he knew it would bring. Toward's the end of his life, he did allow a documentary film to be produced, which he carefully reviewed for accuracy, as well as allowing himself to be interviewed for it. I think it was one of the first showings, if not the first, that I attended and heard him speak. It included interviews of his combat group, and it was very interesting to hear what they had to say about him after-the-fact, when you realize how poorly he was treated.
I just looked and found the documentary on YouTube - although this one has foreign language subtitles.

Saw Deepwater Horizon as well. It was interesting to see what happened out there. I remember BP getting destroyed by the press and rightfully so. They're morons that caused a lot of damage to the environment. The film really let them off the hook by not showing how bad that spill was.F#*K OHIO!!!

Just saw a movie called "phone booth" with Colin Farrell as the leading actor. Got to assume that you guys have probably seen this. From 2003. I don't think I've ever been gripped by as much suspense, EVER! What a brilliant, but very scary film. And Colin Farrell is absolutely brilliant in it. Obviously Keifer Sutherland is great as the voice also. Those channel flicking nights sometimes work out great.
If any haven't watched this, I recommend it."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

I remember it was directed by the guy that directed "Batman & Robin." #BatNipples
If it's on Netflix or HBO To Go, I might check it out again... it's been a decade since I've seen "Phone Booth."
I've seen a couple movies recently after not watching any movies for a month... crazy.
- "The Revenant"... great movie. Leo was great. I thought Tom Hardy was hilarious. Great acting and cinematography all around. 9/10
- "Brooklyn" ... loved it. If you like coming of age films, you will like this. Very cyclical, contained plot that had an amazing lead performance. Some people might think it's boring, but come on... 9/10
- "Zootopia" ... another good movie. I ding it a bit because the narrative structure is too familiar. We see that all the time. Obvious implicit meaning too. Just a fun movie all around and the sloth scene? Lol. 8/10
- "In the Heart of the Sea" ... this felt VERY flat to me. Some good action sequences, but I'd recommend to skip it. 5/10
Next up, "Spotlight" and "Straight Out of Compton."AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

"Doctor Strange" reviews are coming out in the last couple of hours.
Sounds like one you can skip in theaters.
Great visuals, typical origin story, underwritten villain.
Marvel really needs to change it up, but won't understandably because of the income they bring in.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill
