I never forgave the first "Independence Day" movie for their completely idiotic ending where they uploaded a virus onto the alien computer since, you know, alien technology has to be compatible with Windows OS...ruined the entire movie for me.

"Independence Day" is on HBO ToGo, I might rewatch this movie for the first time in years.
Wonder if this movie is really crap, but is overhyped for a few iconic shots, Will Smith being great, and Bill Pullman's speech.

The director, Roland Emmerich, has almost directed every big blockbuster crap movie you can think of.
"Godzilla" (1998 ), "The Day After Tomorrow", "10,000 B.C.", "2012", "Stargate", "White House Down", and now apparently "Independece Day: Resurgence."
"The Patriot" is an exception, but it was written by the writer of "Saving Private Ryan." I love that movie.

The first ID4 was good. Good cast, well acted and was pretty funny. Like LFIJ pointed out there were a few plot points that didn't make sense but most sheeple wouldn't have picked up on it.

I liked Stargate a lot as well. I heard they were planning a reboot of that one too.

South Park ruined "The Day After Tomorrow" for me.

Went to watch the latest Purge installment. It was pretty decent for what the film is.

"Ghostbusters 2016" is coming out Friday. I hope it bombs because remaking movies like "Ghostbusters" shouldn't happen. "Back to the Future", "Gladiator", "Jaws", "E.T." etc... DONT REMAKE IT.
IMDB users are rating it low, rotten tomatoes is rating it high.

Mike and Dave was much better than Neighbors 2.

Agreed on the remakes. Don't redo the greats. I've heard this film is going to exactly what you're hoping. It's not getting good reviews.

Don't touch the good ones.
Remake crap like ... "Masters of the Universe" or "The Mummy", sure, the originals weren't that great.
But if you dare remake "Braveheart", please fail at life.
