Let me know what you think of Stay when you get it. I'm still trying to decide if it was really great or really shitty. It's one of those movies thats not clear cut. Very appealing to the eyes in an artistic stand point.

Saw the new King Kog over the weekend. I was far from impressed. Other the animation of Kong himself, I thought the rest of the movie was pretty bad. Too much CGI a lof of which looked really fake, a weird mix of comedy in with the drama and just overall I never felt swept up in the adventure. Very, very disappointing from Peter Jackson.

Awww, that's too bad. I thought it was great. Very moving. I'll let you know what I think of Stay. I heard similar comments to yours. Someone told me to watch it with an open mind and not try to guess what I think is going on.
Main, I was very disappointed in King Kong (and Jackson) as well."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Finished watching Brokeback today. It was alright. I thought Ledger shouldve won best actor. He was great. One of the best pure performances I've seen in awhile. I screwed up watching it with my gf. She has A.D.D with movies so it was hard to stay focused. Gonna watch it again and see if I change my mind.
Has everyone seen it, cuz I have a question for you guys?F#*K OHIO!!!

So when the wife is telling Heath Ledger that her babys daddy bit the big one it shows him getting beat to death and drowning in his own blood. Do you think thats what really happened or was Heath picturing that because of what he saw when he was a kid?F#*K OHIO!!!

Excellent question. I think it's intentionally ambiguous and left up to the viewer of the movie or reader of the short story. Personally, I think he was murdered. Here's the excerpt from the Annie Proulx short story on which the movie is based:
Ennis didn’t know about the accident for months until his postcard to Jack saying that November still looked like the first chance came back stamped “deceased.” He called Jack’s number in Childress, something he had done only once before, when Alma divorced him, and Jack had misunderstood the reason for the call, had driven twelve hundred miles north for nothing. This would be all right; Jack would answer, had to answer. But he did not. It was Lureen and she said who? who is this? and when he told her again she said in a level voice yes, Jack was pumping up a flat on the truck out on a back road when the tire blew up. The bead was damaged somehow and the force of the explosion slammed the rim into his face, broke his nose and jaw and knocked him unconscious on his back. By the time someone came along he had drowned in his own blood.
No, he thought, they got him with the tire iron.
“Jack used to mention you,” she said. “You’re the fishing buddy or the hunting buddy, I know that. Would have let you know,” she said, “but I wasn’t sure about your name and address. Jack kept most a his friends’ addresses in his head. It was a terrible thing. He was only thirty-nine years old.”
The huge sadness of the Northern plains rolled down on him. He didn’t know which way it was, the tire iron or a real accident, blood choking down Jack’s throat and nobody to turn him over. Under the wind drone he heard steel slamming off bone, the hollow chatter of a settling tire rim."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Based on the cold way in which the wife recounted the accident (both in the movie and the short story), it makes me think she's lying which is why I think he was acutally murdered."And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."

Yeah, the film version takes it a step beyond the short story in that it clearly suggests foul play.
I also think that in the film there is a further implication that despite her words Lureen knew that Ennis was more than just a "buddy" to Jack, and that therefore he was in some way at least partially responsible for his death.

And I dont think he was murdered. I think Ennis was just paranoid about the what happened when he was a kid. The marriage between he and his wife was shit for years and probably at the end. He even said she was a cold accountant type.F#*K OHIO!!!
