MISSION VIEJO ? An informant reported an indecent exposure incident in which a man came through the drive-thru of Del Taco restaurant without pants.

The man was in a brown Honda and had a pit bull with him in the car, the informant said. The incident was 1:03 a.m. Tuesday in the 26200 block of Avery Parkway. Deputies arrived to the scene, but did not locate the suspect.

Del Taco employees did not want to file a report, said Dep. Darren Sandberg of Mission Viejo Police Services.

Dead lawyer's wife charged with murder

The wife of a Farmington Hills appellate lawyer has been charged with murdering him, as well as practicing medicine without a license, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.

Laura Lynn Johnson, 46, was ordered held without bond at her arraignment this morning in 47th District Court in Farmington Hills on a charge of second-degree murder with an alternative count of manslaughter, and unauthorized practice of medicine in connection with Lloyd Johnson's death Wednesday.

She faces up to life in prison if convicted.

She told Judge Marla Parker that she would hire her own lawyer to defend her against charges she killed her husband.

She'll be held in the Oakland County Jail until her next hearing scheduled for Sept. 29.

"I can tell you she did practice herself," Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper said this morning while announcing the charges. "I couldn't make this stuff up."

"Well, we charged her with murder in the second degree," Cooper said.

EMS was called to the couple's Farmington Hills home to reports Lloyd Johnson had suffered a heart attack. A search warrant says investigators found human tissue in the refrigerator and bloody bedding strewn throughout the house.

He died at 6:05 a.m. Wednesday at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills.

Brian Dailey, an attorney who represents Johnson's five adult children, said Thursday that Lloyd Johnson had told his wife during the weekend that he wanted a divorce.

After seeing a list of what was seized from the house, Johnson's children feared it wasn't a heart attack that killed their father, Dailey said.

Investigators are also doing tests on the family dog, which was found dead Monday when they arrived at the house.

Farmington Hills Police investigators still were not releasing today what exactly led to the charges.

"The unusual circumstances of this case limit the amount of information that the department can release at this time," a department-issued news release sent out today said. "There is still much work to be done."

Johnson was a trial specialist for Geoffrey Fieger's Southfield law firm for six years, but left in 2009, and was running his own law practice from home, along with the Web site thelegalscholar.com.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office said a ruling on Johnson's cause of death is pending the results of toxicology tests.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

For all the vehicle crashes, crack-ups and collisions that happen each day in Marion County, what happened early Thursday on Interstate 75 still amazes.

Incredible crash
Here's what happened early Thursday on Interstate 75:
1. Robert Kelly rides his Suzuki motorcycle northbound.
2. Jeff Stark drives his 2005 Dodge Caravan northbound.
3. Kelly whips around traffic and into the middle lane.
4. He slams into the back of the moving Caravan with such force that the Suzuki breaks through the vehicle.
5. Kelly is propelled into the van, straight between a husband and wife who are sitting in bucket seats in the back.
6. He winds up horizontal with his head next to the van driver.

A Suzuki motorcyclist was riding so fast that he rammed into the back of a moving minivan.

He hit the van with such force that his body propelled into the vehicle like a missile and his body positioning was so fortunately precise that he shot straight between a husband and wife seated in the back in bucket seats.

"We were just cruising in the center lane when we heard a big ol' bang ? and he's lying between us," Sammy Cannon said.

The motorcyclist is Robert Kelly. He's 22, from Silver Springs, and as of late Thursday he was listed in critical condition at Shands at the University of Florida. He was wearing a helmet, officials said.

The couple in the back of the van ? Sammy and Nicole Cannon ? were, miraculously, unhurt. Same for the van's driver, their friend Jeff Stark.

They were all in shock after the wreck, which was like something from an action movie. The Cannons stood along I-75 with Sammy holding his wife close, her head to his chest.

Dachari Walker-Johnson might have had the best view of the bizarre crash. The Suzuki roared past her car on I-75 a moment before the collision.

"He (the motorcyclist) was going so fast he didn't see that van," she speculated.

The 2:20 a.m. wreck happened just south of the State Road 40 exit. A northbound section of I-75 was closed for a couple hours, with traffic detoured at the State Road 200 interchange.

After two hours officials opened two lanes of the busy interstate.

Troopers said the 2005 Dodge Caravan was northbound in the center lane when the 2002 Suzuki motorcycle crashed into it.

Stark said the impact felt and sounded like "the back tire blew out."

Because other vehicles were behind him, Stark said he slowed and pulled over on the shoulder 70 to 80 yards past the SR 40 exit.

"I turned around," he said, "and saw a guy's head was turned liked he was looking out the passenger's window."

Traveling in a Chevy Malibu in the middle lane not far behind the minivan were Charles Johnson and wife Dachari Walker-Johnson. He said they were going about 65 mph when the motorcyclist "shot past them" in the far lane.

The couple said they heard a boom and then saw a cloud of smoke and bike pieces flying everywhere.

The Johnsons said they stopped and called 911. Thinking the motorcyclist must have been thrown onto the roadway, Johnson searched the area but found nothing.

He said they drove down the road and saw the Dodge Caravan parked on the shoulder. At that time, they saw the motorcyclist in the minivan.

"He was breathing a little bit," Johnson said.

I've searched the local obituaries and he isn't in there, so hopefully he does make it but damn, that's just crazy and stupid to ride a motorcycle like that.
