How does this statement jive with this year's class then Mass?

If you look back through the Rodriguez years you will see that MSU did indeed pull nice recruits out of Ohio...recruits that might have previously gone to M, like they are this class.

It looks to me like that could be drying up for Dantonio now, with Hoke and Meyer in place (see Pittman, Se'von etc.)

We shall see. IMO MSU will keep getting a few good/great ones from MI and Ohio regardless of Meyer and Hoke. And Meyer and Hoke doesn't change that MSU has had most of it's success with underrated diamond in the rough type recruits anyhow (Cousins, Bell, Worthy, Kmart, etc..). MSU, right now, has the talent to keep stacking solid years together and that is only going to build on the perception and stability of the program (which is already happening as MSU starting to be able to beat Iowa and Wisconsin for recruits at a good clip).

And obviously beating Urban for a 4 star safety and Hoke for a 4/3 star WR in the last couple days helps with the narrative that MSU will be fine in recruiting for the foreseeable future.

Mondaris is the highest rated recruit Dantonio pulled, and well you can see who UM pulled from Ohio

Saying that Dantonio gets second choice in Ohio just isn't true (this year at least)
Compare to the rankings and numbers of OH kids MSU got in 2011 and 2010.

There is not much change.. perhaps even an up tic. I think you are reading too much into the Pittman thing. Or maybe you are thinking past Ohio kids MSU has had were ranked higher than they were based on the success they had.

          • Michigan #5 and Michigan State 39? LSU 12?

Even losing seniors I do not see Michigan State and LSU being ranked under Michigan.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

                  • It looks like the spartie fat boys are going to be too much for us today. They are killing us on the boards.

I figured we'd split with them this year. No big surprise. I didn't think we'd be this ice cold, though.

Gotta bounce back against Nebraska and then see if we can upset the fuckos.

                            • Illinois is a head-scratching team.

Big, athletic, they can all shoot and rebound, but they are one of the worst ballhandling teams I've ever seen, and none of them can make a free throw.

                              • They can't all shoot. Not many of them can, actually.
