But MSU, because they are as good a team as they are, put themselves in a position to go to the Rose bowl in the first place. Only Wisconsin was able to put themselves in the same position.

For UofM fans insisting they are equal. They are not. MSU is a little better this season.

And Nebraska is a little better than MSU this season.

Guys lets not pretend you wouldn't be throwing a far bigger stink fest if UofM got slighted the same way. In fact I've already witnessed bigger stink fests here for smaller slights. Hoke admitted UofM was overrated early in the season (when it didn't matter for bowls) and the same logic applies to UofMs final ranking. It's just the way it is and many UofM fans admit it freely and correctly.

The main thing MSU fans are insisting is that MSU had a better season and is a better team when a UofM fan tries to suggest they are equal.

Hey, MSU fans are the ones that are cherry-picking everything to only use data that you want.

Sorry, when you get blown off the field twice, that is a relevant piece of information towards how strong your team is. I know you'd like to pretend otherwise.

The irritation from me was that Michigan was pretty much guaranteed a BCS spot (over several other deserving teams) without even playing a game.

Meanwhile, the team that beat them head to head, and in the division, had to win yet another game (against a team they had already beat once), to get their shot. One team had to earn it (again), while the other had it handed to them... because they're Michigan.

And that's bullshit.

Like I said. It's not a playoff system.

No, they aren't. Sorry. If you played 10 games between MSU and UM, both teams would probably win 5 of them.

My guess is that MSU would win 4 out of 5 at home and then win 3 of 5 at UofM. With a big part of the discrepancy being that MSU has a great defense to handle a passer with a limited arm.

Ultimately though MSU is a little better than UofM even though MSU the head to head at a better clip than "a little better" would suggest.
