The local media seems really put out that Ron English was curt with them after the game. You take a crappy MAC team into Ann Arbor, keep the score respectable, and you're mad?
I'm not sure what color the sky is on their planet, but losing 31-3 to a fairly mediocre Michigan squad isn't exactly respectable. It's not a horrible awful blowout, but not anything resembling a good showing.

That said, who cares if he was curt to media members? It's not like he was condescending or disrespectful. He was understandably upset his team didn't perform the way he had hoped, and didn't exactly bend over backwards to answer every question they had. There's a difference between that and disrespect.

I think the media were taken aback because Ron English isn't ordinarily like that. That's why they included mention of his attitude in the story. If it's different, it's news.
I made baseball as fun as doing your taxes!

      • I think some media members need to go back to school and be re-taught what "news" is.

        • All I know is that I'm glad the whole Lloyd-Miles-Harbaugh-Rodriguez crap is in the past. I really like Hoke's demeanor, and I think he was the right hire. Chemi, if some friend of a friend of a friend tells you that Hoke once ran over a puppy, keep it to yourself.

I have stayed as far away from the drama in Ann Arbor as I could since the RichRod hiring, and have no desire to learn more about it presently. Fear not any stories about Hoke from me.

            • Hoke likes to party from what I've heard.

              • Go Aztecs!

Should be a great game tomorrow. Not sure which coach has the "advantage" here since they're all professionals at the top of their games, but it looks like a very close game on paper to me -- certainly not a 10-point game as the spread indicates. SDSU has a knack for folding in big games, particularly those in front of 100,000+, but on paper they match-up well. SDSU has the better "QB" and running back, but lacks WR experience (though good/deep at TE) and a bend-but-don't-break defense. I worry that Michigan's size on the lines will wear them down and Michigan certainly won't be in awe of anything (hopefully Ronnie Hillman after it's all over, but we know we'll never get a Heisman since Gino Toretta > Marshall Faulk).

Good luck for an exciting game with no injuries!

                • I know what you mean by better "QB", but despite Denard's lack of passing consistency, you'd be kidding yourself if you didn't concede that D-Rob will be far and away the most dangerous/electrifying player on that field tomorrow.

                  • I'm not sure...who is the better "QB" out there? I can't tell.

                      • Ugly 2nd half but I am somewhat encouraged by what seems to be an improving defense.

                        • 58-0 over Minnesota. I thought Rick Leach was at QB for a brief moment.

                          • It's too bad Hoke is taking time off to run for president.

Rashean Mathis: "I'm an egg guy. Last year we didn't have (the omelet station). I didn't complain, but I was dying inside."

                            • Wasn't Brady Hoke supposed to wait for his players to fit his system?

                              • #12 is way too high. We haven't beaten one ranked team.

Loving what Hoke is doing, but come on now. We steamrolled a team that couldn't hang with North Dakota State.

The way things are going, Michigan State may be the best team we face all season. Wisconsin is the only behemoth in the big ten, and we'll need to win our division to get to them.
