            • It looks more impressive without the buildings and gigantic screens and billboards. They make it look smaller.

                  • The only thing I hate about Michigan Stadium is that, in their absolute insistence that they will never build an upper level, the farthest seats are so far away from the action that you might as well not be at the game.

I read somewhere that the farthest row in one endzone is nearly 200 yards away from action in the other endzone. That's just ridiculous.

Everything else was beautiful though. I liked that the stadium every time I was there was astonishingly clean and rather well maintained. Spartan Stadium was pretty horrible in comparison (no offense to Spartan fans, I'm told that stadium has been shaped up a lot better the last couple of years).

Worst stadium I ever had to attend? The Horseshoe by far. Not exactly a surprise, I'm sure.

                      • Neyland Stadium is maybe the best stadium.

                        • Yes, Brook, I've been told Spartan Stadium has cleaned up nice. I have no reason to doubt that. But in the early aughts, it wasn't exactly pretty. The press box was pretty rough especially.

                          • The cool thing about Neyland is being that its right on the Tennessee River people take their boats to the game, they call it the Vol Navy.

Although it's been a long time since I've sat in the last 15 rows of the stadium, I don't recall ever feeling I had a bad view of the field. Now, there were times I wished I wasn't sandwiched in by the crowds and the small distance between seating numbers but that's all part of the fun (sort of).

Also, there has been some talk about adding a 2nd deck in one of the endzones so you may get your wish at some point.
