28 is the absolute max they are able to sign, same as any B10 team...

This class is going to be 24 plus; right now they can only sign 18 I think but there will be attrition. Where it finally ends up will be based upon how much attrition they have before signing day. In the B10 you can oversign by 3 based upon expected attrition over the summer.

    • per Rivals - What a great day (weekend) for Michigan!!

He de-committed from the Buckeyes June 21 and joins what's becoming one of the top offensive line hauls in Michigan history.

      • I think Michigan's next target for 2012 should be DT Sheldon Day from Warren Central, IN
He is 4 stars, Michigan needs to upgrade at DT ... a good DT from Indiana would be easier to get.
It will be interesting to see who gets him, cuz 2 average players from Warren Central have committed to IU ... 1 to Purdue.

        • I just noticed this for the 1st time, #1 QB for 2012 Gunner Kiel will choose between Missouri, IU, Oklahoma, Alabama.
His older brother plays QB at IU right now ... I will be mad if he goes there.

Kyle Kalis explains why he switched from Ohio State to Michigan

Kyle Kalis, the highly rated Cleveland-area offensive lineman who first committed to Ohio State, then decommitted after the retirement of coach Jim Tressel and ultimately committed to archrival Michigan on Sunday, shared some thoughts on the matter with espn.com today.
"I can't go (to Ohio State) and take penalties for something I never did," Kalis told the site. "Ohio State is a great program. I'm just not sure how long it will take them to recover. I want a solid, grounded coaching staff with a safe environment where there aren't such tough questions."
Kalis also had words of praise for new Wolverines coach Brady Hoke.
"He is the type of guy I want to play for," the 2012 recruit told the site. "He has an incredible amount of passion. I believe the Michigan-Ohio border is now open. I think you're going to see eight or nine guys from the state of Ohio going over to Michigan this year."

There goes the "it will hurt recruitment!" Rich Rod defense.

BTW this ... "I believe the Michigan-Ohio border is now open" ... is really clever wordsmithing. Is that a common saying in the Michigan vs Ohio battle for talent? Or did this kid make that up?

And Michigan is recruiting Sheldon Day. He's one of 4 or 5 DTs they are heavily recruiting and will take at least 2.
