          • Could we get any more lame ass calls?

            • This is something that I don't like about the way basketball is officiated at every level, and Duke takes advantage of this better than anyone.

A defensive player goes straight up, arms extended above him as he jumps. The offensive player pretty much throws himself into the defensive player, and the defender gets the foul.

It happens at every level, and I don't understand what the logic is. The offensive player initiates the contact and violates the space the defender has established... yet its a foul on the defender. Makes no sense to me.

              • Really fun first half. What is this shit, Krzyzewski doesn't have to give CBS the little interview at the end of the half, he sends out his flunky? I've never seen that before. Michigan playing as good as D as can be expected against the best team in the country, and stepped forward when it looked like Duke was going to open up a lead. Looking forward to the rest.

                • As far as the officiating goes; yes, it's been very ticky-tack, but it's been consistent on both sides.

                  • I don't have any gripes about the officiating. Michigan looked tentative at first but is letting instinct take over. I loved Horford's dunk right through a guy; Morgan, by comparison, got a pass underneath and decided to put the ball on the floor.

                    • michigan was looking real nervous to start out the game glad they seem to have gotten it under control. wish they refs would let em play a little more but i think chemi is right its both sides getting slapped with weaker calls.

                      • That's really all I ask for from basketball officials; to leave the names on the front and back of the jersey out of the equation.

                            • The ball keeps bouncing Duke's way. It doesn't feel like they've played better, outside of Nolan Smith's superman impression.

                              • It's amazing how officiating styles can impact certain games at certain times. When a team has a superior size and athletic advantage, a ticky-tack foul game can be put in to favor the big boys, conversely, last years Butler/MSU Final 4 game, was called in a way to benefit the underdog.

Not saying this game has been inconsistent, just not surprising in regards to the officiating style.
