For the record in my earlier post where I agreed with Mass I was referring more to this season's recruiting class.

Over the years though, of course, I don't think there's much question that UM has traditionally gotten more high quality recruits than State.

And I don't disagree.

The point I was making is that a 3 star at State might actually be a better player than a 4 star at U-M (or fill in any of the other major programs).

The problem for State is that U-M used to get nothing but those 4 stars and tons of them so when they missed on a couple it didn't matter.

Michigan lost OT Jake Fisher to Oregon ... but I think thats OK because he is undersized for Hoke's future power offense.

But Michigan has TE Frank Clark now. 18 Recruits in this class now.
What exactly were the penalties for Michigan when they violated NCAA rules? ... I thought Mich lost scholarships.

Losing Fisher will suck... I was sad the spartans couldn't get him originally or this 2nd tim around.

Looks like both U-M and MSU grabbed one additional recruit to their class on signing day, without losing guys ... 4* TE Barnett who'd been a long time Arkansas verbal ended up in Ann Arbor ... and MSU landed 3* OT Fua Fontoti (JC transfer) who passed on UCLA & Rutgers to play for the Spartans.

Both teams ended up with guys who will likely start for their respective teams next year.

Rich Rod is full of shit by trying to say he did not have all of the factions pulling for him.

Fact is, he proclaimed he is a good coach and can coach any athlete when asked right after he was hired and it was clear he did not have the personnel he needed to run his offense.

Fact is, he made it clear that Michigan's biggest rival, Ohio State was just another game on the schedule and his intention was to win every game on the schedule.

Fact is, he owns the worst coaching record of any HC at Michigan as well as the worst regular season record in the 100+ years they have been playing football at Michigan.

Fact is, his initial spring and pre-season practices the media reported they heard more offensive language than at any other time at Michigan.

Fact is, a coach that gets hired to a D1 team should have a command on what is expected from the NCAA in terms of practice and documentation.

Fact is, not only did he plead ignorant, but drew sanctions because of his willingness to bend the rule in his own favor.

Fact is, not only did he get beat by non conference teams but his record of beating Conference teams as well as traditional rivals (read:Yes, Ohio State is Michigans biggest rival but losing to Michigan State is also unacceptable) his only victory that had any value was beating ND who was nothing other than a shittier team undergoing just as big of a transition as he was putting on the Michigan program.

Fact is, even though he had the Offensive Player of the year in his third year as coach, he team proved it could not defend anyone and were totally embarrassed in their final two games which should have been the biggest games of the season.

Fact is, he sucked from the moment he arrived, thought his plan would prevail and when given enough rope, hung himself proving his plan sucked.

.....and Fact is, he had more transfers than any other coach I can remember at Michigan.
