I was under the impression that Barwis's contract was negotiated separately from RichRod's, and I had heard no news of his firing.

    • Yeah, that was a week or so ago, when it was annnounced Hoke was bringing his guy in and Barwis was leaving. Seems to be some conflicting reports as to whether he left on his own or was fired.

          Michigan needs to get him!
I heard MSU couldn't offer him because of numbers. But thats just what I read on a forum and who knows what its worth.

Man, those "inside sources" are really slacking off these days...

Believe it or not, I don't have inside sources anymore. Haven't for about five years. I've said so repeatedly.

So uh... you really called me out there. Good job? I guess?

But, hey, if that makes you feel better that I pretty much pegged how this entire debacle was going to go based on my past experiences with the University of Michigan, go for it. You hate it that I was right. I get it.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES!!! Wait what? That was pretty much exactly what happened? Uhhhhh... CONSPIRACY THEORIES!!!!

EDIT: On further though, that's probably a bit too harsh and mean. I'm going to keep it though, because I don't think I'm wrong. What I'll try to do is retell it a bit more diplomatically.

No, I don't have an current "inside sources", nor do I terribly follow the comings and goings of the school all that closely anymore. I've even said at the time I was relaying all these "conspiracy theories", as Calijawn puts it, that there was a possibility things had changed and that I was completely wrong on what was going to happen. I even doubted myself at times.

But what I had personally experienced in the past was not a conspiracy theory, nor was the history of the athletic department I've relayed. That is damn near exactly what happened. It can't be a "conspiracy theory" if its true. I took that prior experience, along with the suspicion that things couldn't have changed that much considering a lot of the faces that were at hand the last time Michigan faced a coaching hire were still there, and surmised what was going on.

You can doubt my supposition, I suppose, because I'm not there this time.

But the results are pretty much near what I said they would be. The Wolverines weren't going to hire Harbaugh, nor were they even seriously considering it. Sure enough, Harbaugh was not hired, nor did they even attempt to make an offer.

They weren't going to hire Miles. Sure enough, Miles was not hired, and depending on who you believe, an offer was never even made.

They were likely going to hire someone from Lloyd Carr's coaching tree to finally shut up Lloyd's Boys. Sure enough, Brady Hoke (former Carr assistant) is the new coach.

Calijawn, call it a "conspiracy theory" if you want... but when the end scenario plays out damn near to the letter what I said it would almost from the beginning; chances are it's because I have a fair bit of experience with the power plays that went on in the past, and most likely happened now. I'm not sure why you're hatin', but whatever man.

                • Thomas Rawls of Flint Northern committed to Michigan, Rivals now has M ranked #24 and Scout at #27. See what happens tomorrow. Michigan should land a couple more.

Brady Hoke Is Out Recruiting Mark Dantonio. This is a perplexing turn of events for Spartan fans. :-)

                  • If some UofM fans want to start measuring themselves by looking at MSU so be it.

I'll look at it as a compliment to MSU's program.

                    • Considering the sky was falling 3 weeks ago, Hoke has done a fine job of saving this years group. I would watch out next year if I were you .

No more of this crap from RichRod.

MSU recruit Lawrence Thomas 5 Star Detroit Renaissance Linebacker, defensive line 6-5, 245

Asked: Why not Michigan? "Rich Rodriguez sent an assistant to our school to recruit me. He wouldn't even send the defensive coordinator, just an assistant."

                      • If you look at scout UofM was ranked well ahead of MSU in recruiting classes every year with RR.

Looked pretty good in the NC game on both teams, tbh.

                                truth.

U-M will always with the the recruiting battle between the two schools just because of the name Michigan. It doesn't mean they actually end up with the better players however.
