People "gyrate" about it because the University of Michigan obsesses with selling it without really defining what they hell they're trying to sell.

If the definition of a "Michigan Man" means that Brady Hoke was the best coach they were willing to consider, then there is something seriously wrong with their definition.

One of the things that turned me off to him from the get go was in his interview when hired he was asked how important is the Ohio State game and his response was no more important than every other game. We expect to win every game we play.

He came pretty short on those expectations pretty quickly.

Who should we have trounced this year that beat us? Penn state?

Ya, he had the philosophy that a kicker (punter or place kicker) was nothing other than a low form of life and need not be addressed.

Brandon gibbons was very highly rated coming out of HS and lost it when he got to college, and we brought in a new kicker in this class when he proved terrible. Also, Will Hagerup is an excellent punter, so I don't know what you're talking about there.

He might be a good coach in a league that only plays one or two games a season that you might be the underdog but, the Big Ten kicks each others asses every week. I have great respect for some of the SE Conference teams but believe that any of them would have a hard time competing year in and year out in the Big 10.

So what does that say about a coach who was mediocre in a league that only plays one or two games a season?

Look at Penn State. They were a perennial top 10 team and always in the hunt for the National Championship until they joined the Big 10. Then they became just another team with a storied background.

Penn State has been one of our better teams these last few years, this year was obviously different.

.....and had more players transfer than any other Coach in the history of the school with their replacements brought in the following recruitment class and not ready to play for another year after that.

Of course there was an abnormally high transfer rate, we changed our entire offensive and defensive philosophies. Ryan mallet wasn't going to run the spread. The idea was, of course, that the spread was the future of college football, and after watching the title game, It's hard to disagree.

.........loosing to your in state rival and biggest rival three consecutive years and still maintain it is just another football game suggests, his offensive and defensive philosophies were not in tune with the league he was Coaching in.

I don't really see the correlation, tbh.

Knowing that Forcier was in trouble academically and not monitoring his progress to make sure he remained eligible proves he did not care about teaching responsibility or making sure Student Athletes get their education, only that they show up to practice.

Or maybe forcier is just not a good student, and failed his classes?A coach can not make sure a student stays elgiible, that's on tate. It certainly doesn't "prove he didn't care" at any rate.

Also, Hoke got choked up during the conference, and that obviously makes him inept. /fanbase

I wish all the best to Hoke as coach, and am glad to see that he loves this school as much as we do, but loving a school doesn't make you the best cantidate for a job there.

I believe Harbaughs comments about the standards at Michigan vs Stanford was a direct attack at Rich Rods willingness to bring in criminals and thugs as opposed to players that have integrity as well as skills.

Hey, considering the near deifying of Harbaugh within the U-M fanbase these last few months, I wasn't at all surprised that he would be able to make comments about a Michigan coach that was still at West Virginia at time Harbaugh made the comments.

In fact... wanna know who the coach was at the time Harbaugh made those comments? I'll give you hint. His name starts with "Ll" and ends in "oyd Carr."

Dude it was over 3 years ago. I dont think Harbaugh wanted to come here. You're crazy if you think U of M wouldnt have hired him if they had the shot.

I mean seriously he couldve went back to Stanford and coached Luck another season and may have had a shot at the the national championship. Its not like he settled on SanFran. Its a good job and he has some pretty good players out there.

Michigan loses another close hoops game to a top 5 team, to OSU 68-64. They've lost to Syracuse by 3 and Kansas in overtime. They've got to be the best shitty team in the country.
