Hoke has proven he can coach shit talent to beat other shit talent in shit conferences.

With mediocre talent trying to beat good (and the occasional great) talent in the Big 10? He's going to get destroyed; frequently and hilariously.

Hoke is terrible. He's going to prove it very, very, soon.

Good job, Carr. You're gonna get what you wanted; your shitty assistant driving U-M further into the ground. When Hoke walks off the field 3 years from now with a 4-7 record, the maize and blue will have you to thank!

Yeah I think its important to step back and give him a chance. He might end up being great.

While Hoke isn't a sure fire home run, why do you think he is automatically terrible?

And honestly I doubt Carr had anything to do with this hire.

....which is what just about every other big-name coach started out their coaching careers doing.

Nick Saban's first HC gig was at Toldeo. Jim Tressell came from Youngstown State. Urban Meyer's first gig was Bowling Green.

Why exactly is Hoke doomed to failure?

          • My hypothetical interview with Hoke ...

LB: How many phases are there to the game of football?
            Hoke: 3

            LB: You're HIRED!

Because he wasn't even good in the minor coaching positions he's had.

Even with one year that he went beyond the mean, he is still a sub .500 coach.

Outside of 2008, his best season is 9-4.

That's not the sign of a coach ready to set the world on fire. That's a coach that you'll be crying in relief if his team is ever bowl eligible in a much more competitive conference.

Oh, and Carr (through Coleman) has his hands all over this coming hire. "Lloyd's Boys" have been steadily eliminating all other options to the point where the only one who will even take the job at this point is either English or Hoke.

                Hoke: 5! I mean... 7! I mean... 4! 1? 6? 3? 88?
Coleman: I won't accept anyone you want to hire unless it is this man.

                    At this point, probably.

Get ready for Robinson to transfer and for the offense to go completely to shit along with the defense.

                    • Really should have. Shoulda kept him for one more season and then (barring a 10-2 campaign) went all out for Urban Meyer.

                      • Thats not good if the sentiment is "they should have just kept RR".

Still if Hoke has one good season in the next 2 years he will gain a whole lot of excitement. RR set the bar lower than it has in a long while.

                          • Wow. My iPhone just autocorrected Hoke to joke.

Im fine with Hoke but this coaching change does not inspire confidence in Brandon's abilities.

                            • Screw talk of keeping RR. Its time to move back to the pro style offense and at least a high school or above defense.
