  • All this Rodriguez talk has taken away from what was a really magnificent first season at quarterback for Denard. Props to your reigning Big Ten offensive player of the year and UM still has 2 years left of the guy.

    UCONN 383 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

    ND 502 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

    UMASS 345 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

BOWLING GREEN 189 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE IN 1ST QUARTER

    INDIANA 494 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

    MSU 301 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

    PSU 381 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

    ILLINOIS 367 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE

4,000 YDS TOTAL OFFENSE and 6 of Michigan's top ten single game yardage totals. Ridiculous stuff for a first year quarterback who probably missed upwards of 6 quarters this season.

Of course, Brandon doesn't have to deal with a vindictive Lloyd Carr trying to sabotage the search, so he has that going for him...
I was pretty certain that Rodriguez was coming back, but I don't see why Brandon doesn't just say so if that's the case. Guardedly optimistic that he's waiting for the amount of RR's buyout to decrease and JH to coach Stanford in bowl game.

He's waiting until the season is over so he can conduct a complete evaluation.

And oregon put, what, 15 on cal(who are signifigantly worse than OSU)? I guess kelly is a fraud and oregon has an awful offense. Sometimes you just have a sucky game.

That said, I'm right on the fence here, and whichever way DB ends up going, I'll trust is the right direction for the program.

If I had to guess how it's going down, I'd say DB is going to try to work out a deal with harbaugh behind the scenes. If it works out it gets announced after the bowls for each team, if it doesn't he keeps RR and makes some changes to the defensive staff. I think if he was 100% keeping RR he'd have said so by now.

                  • Rodriguez's offense has sucky games against every quality team. They start scoring when they are down a bunch of TDs.

                    • Brandon gives me a feeling of confidence. Millen didn't; I was comparing him to Hawk Harrelson right off the bat. I presume Rich is already dead meat and Brandon is putting out feelers to his successor. I could be 200% wrong.

                      • I think Brandon might be the latest in a line of savior type guys that disappoint. He speaks well and has had success as CEO, but it seems like they are putting all their faith in the guy and he's doing a job he's never done before. Part of the problem was the Michigan Athletic department seems to have a lot of issues behind the scenes, the basketball program has long been a hot mess and the football team disintegrated once Carr left. I'm not sure just one AD is going to remedy the situation.

But he probably will be better than Ed Martin.

                          • And by the way I don't think anyone looks at Brandon as a "savior" (well I know I don't).

I think all we're asking for is for him to make sound, calculated, well informed decisions. Get the football program back to being respectable again and lets go from there.

I've heard a lot of people talk about him in these terms.
