I hope you're right, but I said it at the time, I think the Purdue win sealed his fate and he'll get one more year. I was holding out hope for a complete annihilation today, which it sort of was, but the score won't reflect how one-sided it became. I think they'll point to Robinson and all the true freshman he was playing in the latter part of the year on defense and give him another year.

He hasn't gotten the vote of confidence that the Basketball coach got - so thats something to hold out hope on.

Seriously, If I was an AD and saw that the current HC has gotten annihilated every year against his arch-rival, I'd seriously be considering jettisoning his ass. The record is skewed because they essentially beat nobodies, and got destroyed by the players.

Rodriguez has had three years.

He took a mediocre team he inherited from Carr and in those three years managed to rebuild it to mediocre (at least, if you want to go purely by the team's record).

I'm not sure how much better the talent on this defense is going to get, no matter how much he claims they're young and inexperienced. You'd see flashes if they had any potential at least, and I don't think we've seen that.

It's time to move on. Call up somebody. If the administration is willing to get their head out of ass, suck up their arrogance and pride and give the green light to grab Harbaugh, great. If not, there are plenty of other options available.

The point is, Rodriguez took over a team that was going to be around .500 in conference most likely, had all things been the same from the previous season.

In those three years, Rodriguez managed to bring the team back to about where they should have been three seasons ago.

That should be unacceptable.

You overestimate the talent that was run out. That was not going to be a good team, with or without Mallett. Lloyd Carr knew it... it wasn't just coincidence that he decided then was the perfect time to call it quits.
