    • I have to agree now with Froot Loops when he says that Michigan and Michigan State have become opposites. State plays like Michigan used to - The way I believe the game should be played - and Michigan has become the John L. Smith Spartans. How did this happen?
First, I blame Gary Moeller. If he doesn't go on a drunken rant he fields a really good team for years and probably grooms a successor. Second, I blame Lloyd Carr for letting the program sag at the end and not grooming a capable successor. Third, I blame Bill Martin for not having any idea what he was doing when looking to replace Carr. Finally, I blame Rich Rodriguez, but he was merely being himself. All you had to do is look at his WVU teams and know what you were getting. Pat White/Denard Robinson on offense and defense as an afterthought.
I think it's imperative that David Brandon end the experiment and return to the Bo Schembechler tree at the end of this season. Offer Jim Harbaugh his dream job. He'd take it because he bleeds maize and blue. He's 3-1 against USC. He's tough, and wins big games. Note to Chemi: There's no need for you to chime in with your "he'll never be offered the job" comment. I already know your position.

      • It is to the point hat firingRichrod is a very scary ideal. It will take another complete turnover of staff and players for them to be respectable. Another 3 years of losing???? That said. When Richrod came in, he recruited players that can play the spread. Football is football. If he left today and you brought in a straight old school coach. They players on the team could adjust to a new style of "regular" football easier than old school players adjusting to the spread. The talent is the same, but I really don't think that Michigan would be any worse of a team with a new coach and different schemes.

        • I was in RichRod's corner for the last couple of years, but I no longer believe there's anything positive on the horizon. Keeping him longer only means more of the same.

          • He even said after the game it was a mistake to punt there at the end of the game. Said if he had a "do-over" he would have gone for it.

            • It was over by that point, but if he admits he made a mistake, then it was a stupid mistake. Holy shit, down by three scores with just over 5 mins left. duh.

I would have rather he said he knew it was over, so why bother going for it.

Still a lot of good UM football. Denard's season ain't over. It'll be worth it to tune in to watch the offense. The defense is licking the excrement from the scum at the bottom of the fucking barrel.

              • Oh yeah, I agree 100% that it was over. I was just curious as to why say such a thing. He could have just said "it was 4th and 12 and he didn't what to give MSU the ball back on that end of the field.

5-1 and not one good win.

                  Mich State demolished the Wolverines.

It is time for Rich to go. He has done nothing but embarass the great name of UM Football.

I wouldn't can him now, but at the end of the year. He will get his chance, beat OSU and end up with only 1 loss at the end of the year, but Like the Lions there isn't a defense to be found in the big house.

I realize losing to State is painful for UofM fans (as it should be).. but MSU is a good, better than expected team, that is rolling in momentum and good chemistry. It's not the end of the world here. A higher ranked Badger team got beat last week. Hell Bama lost. UofM could still do some major damage and this year could still be a clear step forward.

You still have a shot at 9 or 10 wins and a shot at a Heisman. Unless the bottom falls out he needs to continue to work on the program he's building.

                        • Rich Rod = Matt Millen?

There are some similarities... The biggest one is that they both should be unemployed

                            • UM had to many misfires/mistakes on "O" to stay in this game. They had to play a much better offensive game to have a chance in this one. They didn't. They lost. Yes the defense sucks--------but we KNOW that. Hopefully it gets addressed in the near future. I'm not getting all bent out of shape because they lost their first game of the season to a pretty good team. We'll see where they are at the end of the year.

                              GO LIONS "10" !!!!!!!!!!

8-4 and in a bowl game. But it won't save RichRod.
