  • they're good enough to go 8-5 the rest of the way and finish 18-12. In the big 10 that should be enough to get them in.

They do need to win 1 of their next 3 to have a shot at that, though.

Losses vs BC,Marquette,Alabama,Utah will keep them out. They've consistently showed they are not good enough. They need a streak of some sort. I mean how do you lose to Boston College at home?
The Lions went 11-5 in 2014

      • None of those losses were terrible losses. Every one of those teams have winning records. They won't be looked at as anything more than 1 loss on the schedule.

Again, an 8-5 finish gets them to 11-7 in the big 10 and I don't see any way they get kept out with a winning record in the deepest conference in the country.

          • Michigan nabs three football commitments in two days

Rich Rodriguez and his coaching staff put some of the final touches on their 2010 class while getting the 2011 class off to a strong start on Sunday and Monday. The Wolverines secured verbal commitments from class of 2010 Ohio linebackers Davion Rogers and Jake Ryan, while also adding the verbal pledge of class of 2011 Cass Tech cornerback Delonte Hollowell in the last two days.

Rivalas now has Michigan rank #9 and MSU doing well too at #25

            • That would be Scout. Rivals has M at #19 and MSU at #29.

              • Ok Rivals hasn't (at this time) have 5 * star Gardner on there yet.

                • Rivals has Gardner as a four star. He's in classes at um so he's a solid commit at this point.

Rivals puts greater emphasis on the average star whereas scout puts greater emphasis on total stars. Since um has 25+ commits right now, the scout rankings are higher

                  • either way thats not a bad class so far with the way this team has been playing.

                    • It's a class that will have a few stars, maybe a couple of surprises, but mostly adds much needed depth on defense.

                      • Again, Wisconsin illustrates how nice it is to be outplayed and still win because the refs are in your back pocket. Same story as last year.

                        • According to sources close to the school, PITT will be moving from the Big East to the Big Ten. Rumors have been runing rampant since December regarding the possible move, but it now appears as if these rumors have been substantiated. No word on who will replace Pitt in the Big East.

Pitt and Mizzou were the two teams I heard the most about, I think Pitt would be the better option.

                            • Pitt has the much better academic profile which fits the Big 10...are we getting a name change? Big North? Big Cold as Shyt? Big No Recruit Wants to Live Up Here?

Pitt in football is a solid addition.

In Bball? HUGE...having Pitt, MSU, Wisconsin, Purdue along with growing programs in Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota (possibly Northwestern) is a conference that can make a little extra noise.

                              • It will be interesting to see how the football divisions would be in a big ten. Some of the proposals I've seen in papers would make one division much harder. In those proposals it would be hard to see MSU ever getting to a Rose Bowl. Not that they get there that often under this arrangement.
