I just hope he turns ND down. I would like to see him at U of M. As a Chip grad, I was mad when he left, but the new coach is doing well. Rich Rod is done after a new AD is hired.Comment

Both GVSU and CMU also faired well after he left, showing that he set up programs with real substance. GVSU won 2 more national titles and won a record 40 straight games after he left.Comment

At the time Michigan was hiring, he hadn't established himself at Cincy like he has now. Plus I think Michigan wasn't going to consider a guy who MSU shied away from. He didn't interview well at MSU and they were really concerned about getting all of the insider factions united.
He is a winner but SLF is right about the similarities to Rich Rodriguez. I don't think he's a good fit there unless he wins right away. If he wins right away then all that subsides, but he can be abrasive to people.Comment

He probably would be a better fit at ND, they are desperate and they've had mediocre hires going back to Davie. The Chicago contigent really wants him there. But I've heard that Davis is the top candidate. Which seems kind of strange.Comment
