I have been rather disappointed so far this season by the defense. They should be much better than what they've shown this season. Granted, the offense hasn't always helped, but Notre Dame should not be hanging 35 on this squad... ever.

RichRod's love affair with Sam McGuffie is tiresome...

Seriously? He was the best UM player on the field, and by a pretty good margin. He had 178 total yards and a touchdown. 131 on the ground & 47 receiving. How much more could you ask for out of your HB?

The O basically gave ND 21 points, and left 14 on the table with turnovers.

SLF, true, that is a lot of touches, and especially for a true freshman. But he was producing very nicely this game and that made it impossible for Rich to go away from him. Plus he was about the only player on the roster who didn't put the ball on the ground.

I'm really, really excited about the kid's future.

Midway through the third, USC 35, OSU 3. And it's been every bit of that. I joked with a guy at work that maybe we'd see Mitch Mustain, the QB who was chased out in the Houston Nutt debacle at Arkansas, if it got to 56-3. So I don't have much longer to wait. One of his fellow Springdale, AR High graduates, Williams, left Fayetteville with him and has caught a TD for USC. I hope Houston likes it in Oxford, because he sure made a mess in Fayetteville.
