I would love to have Harbaugh back, but can totally understand if he wants to try for a Super Bowl championship. No hard feelings from me if he leaves. Harbaugh accomplished the goal and provided awesome memories for me as a fan. Very grateful considering my other teams haven’t provided these memories.

With or without Harbaugh, it’s going to be a tough year with UM losing so many players. And even Sherrone Moore took over, it’s not like they were suddenly going to start chucking the ball 40 times a game. There really wasn’t much for McCarthy to gain going back.

Jim's been at the forefront for revenue sharing with players at the NCAA for a very long time, even when it was not a reasonably favorable position to hold. It's possible, as sentiment continues to swing, that he may be willing to grit his teeth to remain the point of that spear.

I doubt it, but it wouldn't surprise me if he decided that would be the last piece to his legacy as a coach.
