That's a 3rd party opinion that has no skin in the game, at all.

Calling it luck or a fluke ignores the reality of the chess match.
That gambit on State's part only succeeds due to a bad snap. Let's be real.

Michigan didn't need points, so there is no sense putting the ball in the hands of the long snapper and a kicker. Put game in the hands of your O-line, RB and if necessary your defense to stop 1 hail mary play.

Hate to say it, but Harbaugh made a Lionesque mistake - and that level of mistake inevitably is going to cost you a chance to win a game you had in the bag.

        • The pressure of the alignment affected the snap is the logical way to see it.

All MSU fans or UM haters. It was a fluke play which almost never happens. It was pure luck. MSU didn't cause that. If anything Harbaugh did by calling a TO and "freezing" his snapper and punter. Still don't understnad why he didn't just run the ball or punt it without calling a TO.

edit. Having read Maltos post I think I misunderstood the original text.

              • Spartans obviously made a great play. And congrats on your win.

Dude doesn't fumble, M wins vast majority of times
Dude fumbles but falls on it, M wins vast majority of times
Dude grabs fumble in the air, gets tackled, M wins vast majority of times
Dude loses fumble, but makes a tackle or holds the returner up until help arrives, M wins vast majority of times.
Dude doesn't try to kick it, M wins vast majority of times.

His lack of football acumen cost M the game, a game that was in the bag. Time for the punter and a coach to watch some fucking tape together.

If you are referring to me, I did not second guess it. I questioned it when they lined up and could not understand why he was doing that at this point in the game.

I commented to the wife on why the hell are they punting and she could not stop laughing after the play was over. (She is not a State fan by the way)

Why don't teams do it all the time? Because it's pure BS. MSU had no chance unless UM fucked up...............and they did.

I do agree the punter is the most responsible. Told the wife this morning he should be assigned security for his personal well being.

You rarely, if ever, see all 11 coming after the ball.

                          Don't fight it, face it.

                          The center jaked under pressure.

                          • It was a low snap. The punter made bad choices on taking care of the ball.

---------------------------------------------That isn't the centers responsibilty. His responsibility is to hike the ball. He should have no clue how many people are rushing. He should be concentrating on hiking the ball and the guy rushing in front of him. This is a punt. Not a regular play where the center needs to know the defensive set up. He fucked up nothing due to MSU.
