  • He looks like an older version of Will Smith's kid. He's got some skill but I can't stand a lot of these videos that have uncontested dunk after dunk (unless you're a center). His outside shooting looked smooth.

What do we have left to fill? A PG or C?
    F#*K OHIO!!!

Indiana has an explosive offense so they'll have an interesting test this next weekend.

For certain they have a good defense, but statistics don't reveal much when the schedule is loaded with patsies. That goes for all teams. Everyone on television was raving about Wisconsin's running game. They had 3 guys go over 100 yards in the same game 2 or 3 times. Then they played Ohio State and gained a total of 104 yds rushing.

      • Agreed, Rock. Still too early to draw any statistical conclusions.

        • This is the best defense that Dantonio coached team has had. That isn't saying an awful lot because the first half of his coaching tenure was a motley crew of guys who tried hard and knew the defense well but were more MAC level competitors.

The quality of competition hasn't been great so far, but the team is very fundamentally sound. The secondary is the best its been, but its has some depth issues as you saw in the Iowa. Iowa pounced on some injuries in the 2nd quarter.

That Notre Dame loss is going to bug me for awhile.

          • Because of the offense or the PI calls? I thought 2 of those calls were bad, but that's what happens when your DBs play so aggresive and grab a lot of jersey. My favorite Red Wing of all-time was Vlad Konstantinov, so I guess the "If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying" school of thought is not one I can complain about too much.

Sure that's part of the reason why they have such insane defensive statistics right now but @ND and @Iowa are tough games. MSU's defense dominated both times. Iowa had 26 yards rushing at home. ND had very little going for them except go routes along the edges and praying for a pass interference (and MSU's choice to play Maxwell again... ).

We'll learn a lot more this weekend against Indiana. They have one heck of an offensive coordinator over there.

                  • That Notre Dame loss hurt .... I thought State was the better team and controlled the game. Their offensive issues were just a little to much to overcome.

And the PI calls were over the top and for crucial downs and yardage. 1 or 2 bad PI calls can change a game but happens. There were 3 or 4 that were bad or were not called on ND. That sucked. That said, MSU's offense plays a little bit better than they still win so it's still on them.

                      • I'm really shocked that a team that brags about commiting 60 minutes of unnecessary roughness doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.

Next thing you'll tell me is that Suh gets bad calls too because of his reputation. ;)
