The Big Ten just has to play hardball with Notre Dame. The Irish will cave. Who is going to give them what they want? It only makes sense they join the Big Ten. Keep toeing that hard line. Their football team isn't going to be able to remain independent... no one is going to give them that.

Thing is, it's the drama that's going to keep on giving anyway. Right now, ND and the Big Ten are driven more by pride than by prudence; they've reached the point where neither side can let themselves back down and have an honest negotiation. Just saw him workout in Chicago yesterday. Was very impressed. Goes hard all the time. Not a lot of holes in his game. Has a 7-foot wingspan which is phenomenal for a two guard. Very competitive. NBA scouts were wishy washy on him all year, but I could see him performing really well in workouts and moving up sort of the same way MarShon Brooks did a few years ago.The Lions went 11-5 in 2014Comment

Notre Dame has longer standing rivalries with MSU and Purdue, and they weren't going to drop Stanford and USC.
Michigan turned out to be the odd one out. Funny. I guess the college football world DOESN'T revolve around Ann Arbor.Comment

Michigan was left out in favor of Stanford and USC for strategic recruiting reasons. They kept MSU and Purdue for one reason only, easier Win. Michigan is their enemy, for good reason. Just look at how Michigan recruits compared to their other Midwest "rivals". Michigan can go toe to toe with Notre Dame locally, and are becoming a national recrtuiting power once again.
