    Isn't the 2025 class Moore's 1st recruiting season?
When it comes to a school like Michigan - for the most part the institution (i.e. name brand) does a lot of the heavy lifting.
Moore isn't Harbaugh, but when a home grown kid sees Michigan has no QB and he's the top recruit in the country - guess where he's going to go.

Only thing that really changed is - how much is he going to cost. Before that cost wasn't transparent - now it is - and it's exponentially greater.

    • You guys have been wanting to run Moore out of town all year. Don't even pretend you weren't.

      • I don't want to run Moore out of town. I certainly think he may be a little overwhelmed at this time having no HC experience. Question is do you want to give him the time to let him learn on the fly while the tam struggles. His game time management is shaky and his press conferences and interviews are un impressive. Not his fault. He's young. Does he deserve the time to learn at UM's expense or would he be better served more time learning?

        • The simplest answer I can give is one that I've been giving to a lot of people (and I think I do in this thread).

It turns out trying to rebuild a team on the fly with effectively half an off-season is fucking hard. All you have to do is look at the team the Wolverines played in the National Championship game last season. Two teams in pretty much the same exact situation with a bunch of turnover due to graduation and the draft losing a lot of 4th and 5th year seniors, and having to scramble to put a coaching staff together after the old guard was whisked off to a new team.

Hell, both the Huskies and the Wolverines have the exact same record at this moment.

Is Moore the answer? I dunno. We know he can coach a quality team at a high level thanks to how he managed the gauntlet in Harbaugh's absence last year. Maybe he can't put a team like that together without Harbaugh's help, but there's no way to know that based on this season. I think a lot of Wolverines fans took the preseason ranking way too seriously and consider the result to be massively underwhelming. They shouldn't have bought it. This year was going to suck for Wolvy, and there really wasn't any reasonable way to think otherwise.

But a good sign is getting the #1 recruit in the country to flip in the matter of a couple months. That tells me Moore at least knows how to sell himself and the program.

          • A lot of words those last two posts for what’s really been minimal complaining around here. Maybe those are more directed towards other UM fans in your life?

Not this guy, at any point. They may need to tinker with the assistant coaches but Sherrone deserves some time. I'd say three years before making any determination. I mean, if we only win 2 or 3 games next year, I'd probably reevaluate. I don't expect that to happen.

              • Yesterday's game was great. Putting a 50-piece up on a below-average-but-not-bad NW team wasn't something I expected to see. And I didn't even realize until this morning that Loveland was out for the whole 2nd half. That makes it even more impressive. Hopefully, Loveland isn't too hurt, and Will Johnson is able to go next week. It's a longshot to get the upset in Columbus and extend the winning streak to four, but it would be nice (crucial) to have all of our best players out there to give us our best shot.

It ain't hard to find. It's easily a majority sentiment among Wolverines fans, if even not specifically on this board.

                  • Still can’t believe Michigan won yesterday. Unless OSU wins the title, I would guess Ryan Day will be let go.

                    • Michigan had been playing better near the tail end of the year, that combined with the Buckeyes leaving a lot of plays on the field led to a historic upset.

I had said that Michigan could win, but they'd pretty much have to have their best game of the year, and the Buckeyes would have to play their worst. And that's... pretty much what happened.

That was my assessment prior to the game as well. Maybe we should co-assess together more often rather than co-miserate.

                        • A common thought in the college football subreddit is that Day wanted to prove a point by overpowering the Michigan defense, which played into the Michigan defense strength and away from their own offense's strength.

The point being, of course, that Day is not that smart

That and Day pushed out Kyle McCord, who engineered his own massive upset on the same Saturday his old coach was getting pantsed again.
