I have never in my life seen a special teams play like that. How in the holy hell did he make that tackle.

    F#*K OHIO!!!

    • I never liked 500 teams making bowl games but now with the players opting out of games and the playoff system it really has made the bowl games less interesting then they already were.
But admittedly I don’t watch much of college ball anymore so I could be off on my conclusion.

It's going to be unprecedented no matter how they decide. There's never been a playoff without an SEC representative, either.

Yeah the every kid getting a trophy just grew too much for the bowl system. They used to be fun but there’s just too many.

          • Eh, the ballooning of bowl season had less to do with "every kid getting a trophy" and more "every college president wanted a piece of that multi billion dollar stack of cash."

Personally I would go the undefeated teams and Bama. They won the SEC against the #1 team in the land. Georgia is still IMO the best team in the nation but Alabama beat them.

So, direct head-to-head matchups don't matter anymore? Texas went into Tuscaloosa and spanked the Crimson Tide by double digits.

They shouldn’t leave out FSU, but they’ll use the QB injury and their struggles against Louisville to do it.

That's exactly how it's going to go. The Committee rules even allow for a "availability of players" out for when they make their choices.

                    1) Michigan
                    2) Washington
                    3) Texas
                    4) Alabama

Yeah, the ballooning bowl system was mostly about greed and coaches/ADs being able to say they were “bowl eligible” on their resume.

                        Yeah I forgot about that.

I wouldn't do it but that's probably the best way to get the best teams in. FSU isn't good at the moment and the Washington / FSU game would be a blowout. That's not a good look for ratings.

Dunno. If the Bama that played Auburn shows up, Michigan would probably roll them quite handily (I'd say Michigan's ground game is considerably better than Auburn's, and the Tigers were running pretty much at will). That's what a lot of SEC-goons really don't want to acknowledge; Bama is good enough to beat anybody, but they're also questionable enough in key areas that they can damn near lose to anybody.

Contrary to the narrative that the Tide want to run, they aren't a significantly better team than they were when they got rolled by Texas. They were laying some real stinkers against inferior opponents all season, and barely managing to escape.
