  • I still think McCarthy is the best QB in the draft although his numbers have fallen off when Harbaugh was suspended.. again

Is there a chance he comes back for his senior season? I never would have thought so but could he come back and go for the Heisman and be undefeated against Ohio?
    F#*K OHIO!!!

    • I think it will depend a great deal on what advice he gets. If he gets told what you believe (that he's actually the best QB in the draft and going #1 even over Williams and Maye), then he's gone. If he gets told what I think he will (that he's in the middle of a glut of highly regarded QBs and will be a late first, early second round selection) then there's a chance he might return (especially if he were to get a very nice NIL package), but even then I don't think it's likely he'd come back. He's kinda gotta strike while the iron's hot.

      • A lot of teams looking for QBs this offseason - Bears, NE, NYG, TB, Minn, ATL, Raiders, NO if they decide to tear things down. A couple of those spots will probably be filled by vets moving around (Fields to the Raiders seems like destiny waiting to happnen, Cousins will end up somewhere). So even with a deep QB class, you still can be a 1st rounder if you're the 4th or 5th QB.

I'd stack the board Williams, Maye, Daniels, McCarthy, Nix and Penix right now, but those 4 after the top 2 are going to be very much eye of the beholder. In fact, I could see a team falling in love with Daniels athleticism and making a case to break up the top 2.

        • Well, I swear damn near every year, the draftniks overrate the QB class, only to discover that NFL GMs have a significantly different take. Sure, there's not going to be the same level of disconnect that there was two years ago; remember when the "experts" were mulling Malik Willis at #2? But I do think it's going to exist this year as well. I am extremely dubious we're going to see 6 QBs in the first round.

          • Probably not going to be 6, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't 4, and 6 within the top 50. The draft 2 years ago was the outlier, though even then Pittsburgh talked themselves into Pickett when they shouldn't have. These guys coming out this year are too athletic and too successful in power 5 conferences to fall much.

I get what you’re saying but the Willis draft year was one of the worst QB drafts in years and experts called it. His whole
profile was built around “maybe” being the next Lamar. This class actually has talent across the board

              • Call this M homerism if you want, but I think JJ will be a high first round pick mainly because of his ability to make plays with his arm on the run when shit breaks down.

Something Goff will never be able to do.

I agree. I think JJ is the best QB in the draft but his numbers when Harbaugh isn’t coaching aren’t great. I have no idea what they do for the game planning but it seems like they’re just trying to win and not prop up his stats. Maybe I’m wrong but I just see greatness in his game.

The one thing that I absolutely hate about him is when he’s facing massive pressure he’ll wait until the last minute to get away and instead of throwing the ball away he’ll eat the sack. Hes done it 2-3 times over the last month and it’s mind numbing considering how mobile he is.

The kid checks through progressions better than any college QB that I’ve seen in a long while.

                  • I’m glad they’re changing the format up for the Big Ten championship. This is kind of a joke playing Iowa and Purdue every year while Ohio and Penn State sits at home

                    • Michigan is basically treating this like a preseason game with their offensive and defensive scheme. Iowa's defense is for real though. They're wet blankets in coverage and their front seven is flying to the ball.

Don’t think the committee will have the stones to leave out the SEC and the injury to Jordan Travis gives them the loophole they need.

                          Thanks a lot Auburn.

Maybe not on a tv level but the Bowl games it certainly is.

Yeah I don’t know. There’s no way they can leave an undefeated FSU team out. That would be unprecedented.

I’m not sure about that. I think the bowl games were going down hill for the longest time. There’s too many of them and players didn’t want to play in them with the draft coming up. I don’t blame them.

I think the playoffs are way better
