Penix is right now in the mix for the Heisman. Dude is absolutely electric, and has been for a couple years. McCarthy ain't jumping above that as it stands.

He’s not jumping him for the Heisman for sure but IMO he’s a better prospect. The Michigan offense doesn’t and won’t allow him to put up gaudy numbers as they’re putting their foot on the other teams neck and slowly applying pressure until they die.

JJ can get into a shoot and throw the ball all over the field. And who knows if Williams even comes out in the draft. He already said it for the world to see that he can make more money in college than the pros.

Penix has serious medical issues

2018 and 2020- Torn ACL

2019 sternoclavical injury

2021 AC joint (shoulder) injury

That is going to drop him with some teams. Look how far Hooker fell in this draft.

Caleb Williams and Mayne are better prospects than JJ. Penix is not because of his extensive medical injury history/

GMs aren't going to be terribly bothered by a dude that hasn't had a significant injury in over 2 years.
