  • Yeesh.... That's higher education for you... Some poor A student is out there, working at Mickey D's, going to a JC, and unable to afford to go to a school like OSU, yet this mental midget is getting a full ride. Sad.

    • I don't know about the speed and finesse, but maybe it was WMU being pushed around, but the Michigan lines seemed to possess that nastiness they did in previous years.

        • Im now glad Pryor went to osu, breaking the law is one thing. Yes he (Vick) has paid for it, and I agree with the punishment, but Pryors hero taking jumper cables to dogs and dunking them in water till they can't breath anymore shows someone's true character. The Eagles have taken over my most hated team from the Cowboys (NFL) now along with the 2 teams playing (NCAA) in the 'shoe' Saturday.

I doubt that.. and I doubt philly fans care what those anti-vick people think. Ty Cobb was a son of a bitch, by all accounts.. he ended peoples pro careers with those spikes, but he was a great great baseball player and tiger. I personally think the obsession with celebrities and athletes lives outside the sport isn't a good thing. I have no problem rooting for a jerk to win (if he is a lion, tiger, wing, or piston) even if I know I would never want to hang out with the guy.

:-) You know what I meant. But for clarification, 1 started and the other had significant playing time. So there has only been 3 starters that were true freshman.

----------------------I don't know that UM will surpass OSU next year, although I would love it, but my belief when RichRob was hired was UM was breaking from the tradition of BIG10 football of power to speed and finese. When they get there they will certainly surpass OSU and the rest of the BIG10 will have to catch up.

I have no doubt they will. For that offense to perform that well in the first game is quite amaizeing. The speed that they operated at was really something to watch which no Big 10 team can match. Forcier looked like a veteran out there not some kid who just attended the prom.

OSU does not impress me at all offensively. Pryor is being misused because of his desire to play in a more pro style offense which is what OSU offered for him to go there. He belongs in a spread offense where he can use his speed and size as well as his arm. He looks very uncomfortable in the pocket. He aims the ball and lobs. He will not make it in the NFL in this type of offense. Look for USC to win by 3 TDs in Columbus.

It'll be interesting to see this week just how good this Michigan team is. I would not be surprised to see them beat Notre Dame. If they can get to Clausen I think they will because I don't think ND defense can match the speed of the Michigan offense.

                    • What is this nonsense about MSU going for strength over speed, MSU has plenty of speed. Just utter BS from Ted's perspective.

                      • WMU got (big) housed. UM's D looked really good, it will be interesting to see them step up to a more comparable level of talent next week.

Forcier also looked good. Can't imagine Sherdan was ever really a threat to beat him out for snaps. And, damn, is Denard Robinson fast. Hope they find enough effective ways to use him.

                        • Notre Dame has fixed their O-line problems from a couple of years ago. Clausen has shown that he is accurate on the deep pass when given time. They have big, fast receivers, and the thinnest part of Michigan's roster is CB. Once you get past Warren and Cissoko, who are both dinged up, there's no one with experience. This isn't the usual Rocky Bleier pessimism. This is real fear. We'll see what kind of DC Greg Robinson is this week.

                          • ND fixed their O-line problems because they handled Nevada? And Hawaii? We'll see.

                            • I'm going back 2 years when their O-line was like swiss cheese. I mention it because getting pressure on Clausen is crucial. I think ND is much like U-m right now - unknown.

Yeah I'm an MSU fan... but I'm pretty excited to see this UofM/ND matchup just because of those unknowns and how badly both these programs need this win. And that MSU plays both teams of course.
