  • Yeah, it looks to me as if injuries are going to ruin what looked to be a very promising, maybe even special season. They are still finding a way to win against weaker teams and may very well beat Michigan next week, but the injuries this year have been brutal.
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

    • MSU could still mature into a dominant team this year. Teams always change over the course of a season. Hopefully something clicks before next saturday (from a State fan's perspective at least).

What surprises me more is not MSUs performance so far. It's just how good UofM is rolling already.

        • Sparty should be very proud of what they have accomplished.

Fact is, like Blue has learned, accomplishments are great, but this is a new game, new time to accomplish.

Sparty had taken advantage of that and performed wonderfully.

As in all sports, the next game is what have you done for me lately?
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

I'm not in total shock. Harbaugh is known for getting almost immediate results wherever he has gone.

But I AM surprised at how frightening M's defense has gotten so quickly. Harbaugh has taken this group of what seemed like hedge clippers and somehow jury-rigged a tree eating chainsaw.

            • You have to play the game. The Spartans may be wounded, but do you really think they will lay down for this game? As Marko69 says, mon the Spartans!
It's going to be a war.

Of course not. And if the Wolverines think that, then they'll be in trouble.

That said, I'm pretty confident that Harbaugh won't allow that mindset.

Cheating already. The Spartans have the right to play a group of their peers. It says so in the star spangled emancipation declaration.
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

                    • As a Michigan fan, I just think its great that this game has meaning again. Even Michigan State fans should feel the same way. Because if they win, it will be the most meaningful win on their schedule (so far). The Oregon win isn't looking so impressive anymore.

The thing is in college football, every week is different from the last. In the case of Michigan, they have gotten better every week. In Oregon's case, they have fallen down since their loss in E Lansing. MSU has only played a half of football to their potential.

In college football, it's a bit disingenuous to say well they did beat that team, but since that team has lost two other times so that win doesn't mean much.

                          • Win or lose, football is simply better when Sparty, Michigan and OSU can go toe to toe, blow for blow with each other for 60 minutes.
