Michigan recruit Jabrill Peppers trying to convince Leonard Fournette 5-star running back and the NUMBER #1 RECRUIT in the nation and Da'Shawn Hand 5-star defensive end to join him.
It's amazing at how we're turning it around this quickly. The Rod era was f'ing painful but the recruiting Big Blue is doing will bring us back to annual top 5 - 10.
F#*K OHIO!!!

And here we go again... may I remind you that RichRod's recruiting classes were highly regarded at the time as well.
While it's always good to land good prospects, until it comes together on the field, potential means little. Games aren't won on paper.
Thanks for the reminder. I'd be pretty willing to bet it turns out a little differently. You're delusional if you see similarities in the Rich Rod recruiting and the current classes Hoke is bringing in.
U of M will be back among the contenders.

I'm betting it turns out a lot differently as well. People seem to forget that I LIKE Brady Hoke. He's a good hire that wanted to be at Michigan and had the support, or at the very least didn't have the active disdain, of influential people within the school (things that I really couldn't say for RichRod). Those factors alone will make a huge difference.
The point stands though. The games aren't won on paper. The highly prized recruits are a good sign, but not much more than that.

I hated the Hoke hire.. I have no problem admitting I was wrong.

I didn't think he'd be a good recruiter to high end talent but he's starting to really pull them in.

It seems like Hoke's approach was build up in the trenches and D and then go after the skill positions. RR went more for the small and speedy skill guys and didn't think that much about wearing other teams down, the durability of said small & speedy guys or about getting stops.
While I agree that games are won on the field but the more talent you bring in, the better chance you should have. Give me a bunch of 4 and 5 star guys (that still want to be here and part of a team) than 60 Rudys.
