  • Is JJ related to Corey? And, yes, he may be a homeless man's JJ Reddick...did you forget JJR was one of the best shooter in college history?

F'...not sure why I typed Redding, I even read Reddick when I edited.

As for the numbers, yes Reddick was THE spot shooter in NCAA. However, Novak, as a Freshman is already averaging about 35% from beyond the arc although that isn't great, its decent for a freshmen and nights like last night show he can obviously shoot higher.

I expect Novak to improve--as most players do--and be a career 40% 3-point shooter. Which would make him a poor man's JJ Reddick, not as good of a scorer but better rebounder, similar defenders.

Either way, you know Novak is going to be a big part of the Beilien system.

        • That was what impressed me, I don't get to see a lot of Michigan games here in MN, more now that we just got the Big Ten Network. I hadn't really noticed that Zach and Stu were so active rebounding and defensively. Its amazing that they were both so lightly thought of recruits.

          • Zack had ballooned up to 225lbs and people shied away from him. Plus he didn't play much AAU ball. Lost a lot of weight his senior year, which is when JB found him. Stu played on a very good team and had balanced scoring...only averaged 10ppg as a junior when M offered him.

Now, neither one are going to be All Big Ten or anything, but they'll be big pieces down the road.

Stu will be odd man out next year when Darius Morris (4 star prospect) comes in. Novak is the real deal and will be a great Beilien player for 4 years. His rebounding is surprisngly good.

IDK, I always watch Lucas-Perry play and it seems like his teammates are always riding his ass. Maybe he will be the odd man out.

              • Douglass and Novak are two really promising players. both are a lot more than just spot-up shooters.

                • Darius won't affect Douglass in the least. Morris is going to eat up all of Lee and Merritt's minutes.

                    • I didn't forget, but I had the flu and skipped the second half and OT. Probably a good thing. That is a bad loss, and means they have to beat Purdue and go two deep in the B1i1g1T1e1n Tourney to get to the dance.

                        • So can they win? They have an 8 point lead in the 2nd half.

Got a good feeling they can pull this one off. There is something about Purdue that makes me think they are very beatable. Plus, Jajuan has 4 fouls.

Question is, does this win do enough for us after the Iowa loss?

                            • it does if they can hit the 20-win mark by the time their season is over.

                              • Not so fast I guess, they go up 10 and then allow Purdue easy lay-up after easy lay-up.
