I'm not particularly wrong. If you still embrace the "traditional" expectations of Michigan football (win the Big Ten, win your bowl game), then sure... the chance for a "terrific" season is still on the table.
I just feel with how very mediocre the Big Ten is that it probably shouldn't be a particularly good gauge of a "terrific" season.

It was really apparent when the starting CB went down, but I think the play that epitomized the difference was the play late in the game immediately following the injury to M's starting left tackle. Robinson was sacked when the backup tackle was beaten so badly on an inside move that the Bama players had to be laughing about it.
Alabama was bigger, stronger, deeper, and faster than Michigan.
Yeah but depth is first on that list.
And lack of depth has a huge impact on the rest of your listed differences.
Lewan, btw, is considered maybe the top OL guy in next years draft (Fluker and Jones are in that discussion as well). His sub and talent around him on the OL can't compare to Bama's (depth!).
Rashean Mathis: "I'm an egg guy. Last year we didn't have (the omelet station). I didn't complain, but I was dying inside."

The drop off was significant, but Lewan got his ass handed to him too.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Lewan got called for some penalties I noticed but I didn't think he was abused. I'd have to watch again and focus on him. It's quite likely he had extra responsibilities all night because UofM needed their extra blockers helping out the rest of the line.
It would have been a better gauge for us to see him protect a real pocket passer or run block for a real RB like Fitz.Rashean Mathis: "I'm an egg guy. Last year we didn't have (the omelet station). I didn't complain, but I was dying inside."

Countess going down was huge. And Michigan REALLY missed Fitz. Rawls and Smith showed very very little.
I didn't know that the defense (on the Denard 1st half INT) could chuck a WR out of bounds and not get a penalty for it.
Really strange they did not run Denard at all.2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR
